We had a lovely stay at Barley Rise, the property was comfortable and well equipped. Really close to lots of great places.

“A beautiful lodge in a wonderful location.”
Reviewed 27 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We stayed over February half term with 2 adults and 2 children. The lodge was fantastically cosy (especially while storm Doris raged outside) and Kay could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The location is fantastic for Chester and has good transport links to take you further afield. There is loads to do for children in the local area indoors and out so they were fully occupied. The children were fascinated with the animals on the farm as well - the sheep, horse and chickens. We would love to come back in the summer and make the most of true decking and tranquility of the location. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

“Fantastic friendly place to stay.”
Reviewed 21 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Great location and lovely village, very easy access into Chester where there is lots to do and see. The lodge is brilliant! It's cosy, comfortable and very clean. The log burner is lovely and was burning away for us on arrival. Beautiful views across the fields through the patio doors, you couldn't ask for more.
Lovely friendly welcome and some nice surprises on arrival. We would love to come back again.

Stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 little dogs. It was even nicer than the pictures! Lovely, modern fittings and homely atmosphere. Perfectly placed for us to explore beautiful Cheshire.

An excellent location, lovely little house and a great specification. We (Mummy Daddy and two girls under 4) were up in Chester for the marathon and when we arrived we were taken back by how nice the property was. Kay was extremely welcoming and we had everything we needed including a welcome pint of local ale and fresh eggs, what more could you ask for.

It's locality for a trip to the Aquarium or a lunch in Chester while staying far enough away to enjoy the countryside (including cows, horses and sheep which our girls loved) is unrivalled.

We would certainly recommend and will visit again!

“Give yourself a well deserved rest and stay at Barley Lodge.”
Reviewed 12 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Everything about Barley Lodge is 1st class....the quality of build of the lodge, the 5 star appliances, the warm and friendly Kay who made us so welcome throughout our stay. The setting is stunning and to be so near farm animals was a treat in itself. We'll be back for sure.
