“Beautiful Log Cabin”
Reviewed 16 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

I can’t recommend this place enough, we had such a fantastic stay. The location is quiet and rural, tucked away and so peaceful. The cabin is spacious with everything you need, a real home from home. The beds were soooooo comfy I could have stayed in bed all day!! Perfectly close to the zoo, Cheshire Oaks, The Ice Cream Factory, etc, etc.

“Highly recommend”
Reviewed 12 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We stayed for 3 nights and couldn’t have picked a better place! The lodge was so clean and modern. Spacious and welcoming. Murdoch the dog was so friendly and loved our two year old daughter. The location was great and we would highly recommended visiting the Royal Oak just up the road for something to. Can’t wait to stay again

“Barley Rise Short Stay”
Reviewed 20 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We booked the Barley Rise Lodge for a short stay in Chester to celebrate the completion of my postgraduate degree at the University of Chester.

The lodge has a home from home feel and is equipped with all the facilities one may need for a short or long stay. The two complimentary Westwood Ales were an unexpected but much enjoyed treat!

We all enjoyed our stay at the Barley Rise Lodge and would not hesitate in returning here again in the future.

I would like to thank Kay for letting us stay in her lodge and helping to make our weekend so memorable.

“Beautiful property”
Reviewed 27 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

I booked the lodge for my disabled son and his carer.
The property and location was lovely, however, not really suitable for my son in his wheelchair.
I would recommend to someone who wanted a peaceful time away.
I would also look at staying there myself.

“Trip to cheshire!”
Reviewed 14 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We loved the layout and luxury comforts. Our little daschund “Jemima!” Particularly loved the log burner. We found the Hollies farm shop near by and bought the luxury frozen ready meals and enjoyed fine dining and being snuggly at the same time.. lively complimentary ales & eggs from Kay. Will return again . Many thanks

“Top class horsey holiday”
Reviewed 3 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Stayed here with our horses accommodated in the stables directly opposite and it was so convenient to have everything on your doorstep. Everything was catered for both in the lodge and the stable yard, even piped fresh water inside each stable. Good quality hay and straw readily available along with all mucking out equipment. Riding was brilliant and we were lucky with the weather for the time of year. Nearby Primrose wood was a lovely picturesque ride as was the Delamere forest although without transport it took almost an hour to hack there, but well worth it! Kelsall Hill equestrian centre is a short hack away and they provided access via Primrose woods to avoid the busy main road entrance. If you have horses that place is a must to visit!
The lodge at Barley Rise was 5*, again with everything you may need anticipated; washing up equipment, towels, tea towels, dishwasher tablets, fire lighters for the wonderful log burning stove......just everything! It was superbly clean with towels and bedding being top quality. Fabulous views over the paddock at the back there was no desire on our part to go out much during our stay as the lodge was so comfortable and luxurious (plus we were shattered!)
The lodge is next to a brewery and it was a lovely touch having a couple of bottles in the fridge when we arrived along with some fresh eggs from Kay's chickens. We couldn't have asked for anything better- very highly recommended!

Thank you Claire for such a lovely review. So glad you enjoyed your few day here with your horses. I suspect you didn't take the shortest route into Delamere forest, maybe next time.
thanks
