We have stayed here a few times now and it doesn't change ,a warm welcome always' and comfortable big armchairs and sofas to sit and destress in the bedrooms are nicely furnished a little old fashioned but clean(the only thing that needs changing is the tv's),staff are always helpfull and nothing is too much trouble,a good breakfast is provided with as much coffee and toast as you want,we have not eaten on a night so cannot comment but most people we talked to were happy !!,we will continue to stay there and look forward to returning

A great short break!
The room was excellent with 4 poster, small but adequate.
Receptionist Naiomi, excellent and very very helpful.
Breakfast very nice, although the opera music played wasn't to everyones delight.
Just like some others says no toiletries and no glass or plastic containers for drinks in room. Bathrooms very basic.Good refreshment tray!
The overall aura of the place is very nice and I would consider staying there again.
The bar attached to it served fantastic food, however one night there were like two people sat round tables supposed to be for four just having a beer watching FOOTBALL! (3 or 4 tables of this) which made it uncomfortable on the way in and we walked out and ate elsewhere.
Just a few attention points to detail and top place, not puling it down exactly!

Lovely setting and garden. Our 4poster room was very small but fine. No toiletries but asked at reception for shampoo, they have probs with suppliers apparently. Sleep not great as very noisy plumbing kept you awake with really loud clanging and banging from the pipes. Dinner was good and reasonable price, dining room attractive setting. Breakfast not so good pretty tasteless and basic. Communal areas- the lounge with real fire and bar are characterful. The place is a little worn at the edges but it has a lovely relaxed feel.

Alrhough we didn't stay here, the food & atmosphere was excellent. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We were staying quite close by & after a disappointing over priced meal the night before found this a pleasant surprise and very good value for money. Would definately consider booming a room in future

Stayed one night with my family. Overall fine. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Room was high in character, but the bathroom was a disappointment and seemed dilapidated and without any toiletries at all.

I booked a room to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary,a surprise for my wife. We booked through wowcher, and could not believe such good value for money. We were surprised to find we had the tower suite, which had a lovely four poster bed and a seperate sitting room, with lovely views.
The staff were very friendly, especially naomi and adele. Breakfast was lovely, and we ate both nites at the hotel in the bar area, i can recommend the chicken diane with pilau rice, absolutely lovely homecooked food.
The lady who served breakfast, was so polite and friendly also.

Will definately be returning to this lovely hotel.
