ive been staying here on and off for the last 8 years i love the feel of the place staff are friendly and food is ok huge breakfast in the morning i just wish they would spend a little money on new mattresses in there beds i have woke up with back ache most of the time as the mattresses are far to soft i have stayed there at least once every year over the last 8 years i have slept in all the double rooms and its always the same no matter what room i stay in please sort this out and i will return this year and rate you much better :)

Room Tip: try out the bed first see what you think

I came back to see where I use to work during school holidays and it was like stepping back in time, nothing had changed, apart from staff. the decorations were still the same.

Food was plentiful and excellent. It is full of regular eaters and the sunday lunch is worth noting.

While driving home after spending the night in the lakes we came across this Inn. The Inn was very busy and we just managed to get a table for two. The young lady who looked after us was very pleasant and we was soon tucking into our Sunday lunches from the carvery. I did not have a problem paying £17.70 for our 2 meals as it was about the right price but what did upset me was £2-65 for a glass of lemonade and a glass of lime & soda. We are told not to drink and drive, but the price of soft drinks at this Inn is enough to drive you to drink.

arrived Sat afternoon, tried to catch a nap, but no joy, for the very loud humming noise from the cooling system directly below our room, was offered a swap, but by now didn't have time to move, was told by the owner, he hasn't had any complaints before ( cannot believe that) I asked when the system went off he replied 11pm. no mention it was back on at 6 15am to abruply waken us. had we know this we would have made time move rooms.also the stench from the kitchen waste bins, which were also beneath our room was overpowering. Our weekend was ruined. if a restful night is needed stay away!!!
