We arrived with my mum for her 80th birthday surprise stay in the lake district...Karen met us on arrival and explained everything we needed for our stay.
We had such a relaxing weekend ...the cottage had absolutely everything we needed and more.
Beautiful tasteful decor and immaculately clean!..We spent most of the time chilling in the gorgeous conservatory and such a comfy sofa too!
We will be making a return visit hopefully soon.
Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Karen gave us a warm welcome and we settled in. The cottage is situated just outside of penrith on the river Eamont. The inside was lovely and homely and the garden was lovely too. The cottage is perfectly situated for visiting the local area, and we found some real gems in the village. There are a couple of places to eat in the village and you can be in Penrith within minutes or drive over to Ullswater. We would highly reccomend it to anyone. We didn't want to leave.
The cottage is adorable with so much charm and character and individual touches. We had such a lovely welcome by Karen as soon as we arrived and she walked us through where everything was and then left us to it.
We spent most of our time either in the conservatory/kitchen area (the couch in there has magical properties, it is so comfy!) or the garden where there were three sets of seating to enjoy sitting by the river. So relaxing! The kitchen was perfect for cooking and had everything we needed. The living room would be very cosy in winter.
We found this a great base to explore Pooley Bridge Village and Lake Ullswater and also further afield.
Beehive Pub was a short walk away and good for a drink and bite to eat. A big Sainsbury's and lots of shops are just a short drive away.
Karen and her husband have such great taste. So much attention to detail inside and also in the lovely garden. Fresh flowers and wine and chocs in the fridge were such a lovely touch!
I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough!
Great welcome from Karen and we had a fantastic weekend relaxing here over Easter. Located at at Eamont Bridge an excellent base for exploring the lakes. Couple of nice pubs in the village and only a 10/15 minute walk into Penrith. The cottage is immaculate, spotlessly clean and full of character. We spent most of our time in the fantastic conservatory overlooking the river. Great cycling country too and I am sure I will be back with the bike next time!
We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and we soon settled in. This cottage is immaculately clean, it was lovely and warm even in the depths of winter and we loved lounging in the conservatory, especially looking at the stars at night through the glass roof. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the funky fridge. It is very close to Penrith and would be it lovely in the summer to sit out in the garden and watch the river. Penrith is a great little town. We loved going to Cranstons to stock up on delicious food and then bringing it back to cook. Would recommend a trip out to see Long Meg and her daughters.
If you're looking for a countryside cottage experience with easy access to nearby shops and conveniences as well as nature trails - then this is the place to be. Perfect for families too as the cottage is tasty fully decorated (not over the top) and it is very cosy. We (family of 4) stayed home a lot, especially when the weather wasn't in our favour. The skyline kitchen / lounge area is wonderful with lots of light coming in. The beds are super comfy too and there's a bathtub in the master room. Bliss!
Supermarkets are a short drive away, although you can also walk (15 mins min.) and it's close to sights like Aira Force (lots of walks), Ullswater and Pooley Bridge.
