Helpful friendly hoasting staff, wonderful food, lovely location, only complaint, noisy rear door on closing, it slams when left to it's own devices! But wasn't helped by unsupervised children running a mock! But will be back soon as said children probably wont be there!!!

Excellent stay on our first day of walking C-2-C, rooms very large and comfortable, clean with a "BATH" which helped sooth away the pains and strains of a 15 mile walk.
Excellent choice for C-2-C`s.
A warm welcome from staff in a relaxing pub environment, enjoyed the home cooked food and a large selection of Beers / Wine to chose from.
Again a home cooked "excellent" breakfast to start the next day.
Very good stay and will return.

Was on holiday staying in a cottage in Croasdale and was happy to be able to support this local community run pub. After a long day walking it was great to sit in this cosy pub and have a nice meal. Went at the end of May and this part of the Lakes doesn't seem to get the same level of visitors as the south lakes which is great too.

Despite the fact that my Husband and i only live 2 miles away,we are relatively new to the area and just fancied going out for a drink and a meal.Booked a table then went last Saturday, just as well we booked as it was busy.It is a nice, clean village pub, with a nice beer garden, friendly, polite staff, good service and home cooked food that you couldn't fault at a resonable price. What more can you ask for!!! We will be back.

We brought visiting family here on a Friday evening for a farewell meal after booking ahead. The food was freshly cooked and you certainly get your money's worth, nice large plates full of lovely food. The meat pie one of us had was full of big chunks of tasty meat, steaks were cooked to specification and all were piping hot.
Desserts were great too, beautiful apple and caramel pie and a lovely chocolate fudge cake rounded the meal off a treat.
Would definitely recommended for anyone visiting the area.

We recently moved to the area and have been here for a few drinks but never eaten. We decided to book for a celebration meal and we were absolutely astounded at the quality of the food we received! Despite the pub being incredibly busy the food came out piping hot and we both had the Surf & Turf and the Sirloin was cooked to perfection! I never order steak when we eat out just in case i'm disappointed but believe me this was the best medium rare steak we have ever ever eaten! I would recommend this to anyone and we look forward to returning with family and friends many times more. Can't really say anymore about this fabulous place apart from try it!

After our first day's walking we needed a comfortable bed, a hot bath and a good meal and we got all three here. A lovely atmosphere in the evening for tired walkers, breakfast was substantial but the lady on duty in the morning was very rushed and seemed to be the only person working.
