“Tasty and Fun”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

We loved going there during a recent visit to Millom. Great atmosphere and good food. Met interesting fellow diners staying locally including a film crew.. South Africans know how to cook steaks. Also great meeting friendly owner, a fellow South African in the wilds of Millom countryside

“Surprising”
Reviewed 25 February 2014

From the outside this looks like a small local pub and inside has nice open fire and random mixed match decor but the steaks are a surprise. Very good value - the steak and rib meal for £15 is enough for two! The meat is cooked very well - chef knows how to BBQ. Odd little place but worth a visit if you are looking for some hearty grub in that area.

“Amazing steak”
Reviewed 24 February 2014 via mobile

I was a bit wary about the fact that the steaks are all rumps. But wow does this pub do good rump steaks. As good as if not better than any fillet I've ever had. Real chips, onion rings and lots of other good options if you didn't fancy half a cow. Go. Go now.

“FANTASTIC”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Wow, you have to try this place, it's so true what they say when they say south Africans know how to cook steak!!!!!!!!! It just melted in my mouth. The staff are great and it was a special touch when the chef/owner came and spoke to us when the kitchen closed. Will definitely return if only for the hospitality.

“Top-notch pub grub”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

Although it wasn't the cosiest of pubs, the service was good and both the quality and value of the steaks (and chips!) were excellent.
