Visited the King Billy for a meal while staying at a nearby guesthouse. Comfortable pub with a nice atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening and were advised to book beforehand which was very good advice as it was full when we arrived.
They specialise in rump steaks although there are other dishes on offer. We opted for the 400gr rump steak meal which was on offer for £34 for two. The steak was delicious, cooked to perfection and served with 'proper' home cooked chips, huge battered onion rings and a very tasty salad. I can't comment on the desserts, we were too full of steak to even contemplate them.
The only criticism would be the small choice of ales on offer. The sign outside boasts fine quality real ales which failed to deliver with only 2 beers, a cider and Guinness on draught during our visit.
