Located just outside Boot, friendly owners and nice fires together with restaurant, old style bar and new cafe bar area.

Steak was good, spag bol tasty. Children's lasagne home made and looked good!

Pizza's also looked good.

“Excellent Country Pub”
Reviewed 24 November 2013 via mobile

We have just spent the weekend here and had a very enjoyable time. The staff were most friendly, the food very good and the atmosphere was buzzing.
The room was a bit tired, but we were comfortable and slept well.
Well worth a visit, especially if you enjoy the great outdoors.

“Can we review after just tea and biscuits I wonder”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

But I hope we can because the welcome we got after traversing Wrynose and Hard Knott in a 30 year old LandRover with no power steering was exceptionally warm and friendly. me and me brother just ordered a cuppa tea and it was served in a lovely stylish way, on a tray , with ginger biscuits thrown in to ( I don't mean "thrown in" but nicely presented) ...and all for £1.50 a cup. The young lass serving had a little chat about the music that was playing (The Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and couldn't have been more charming. Will be going back to eat or maybe even stay there. Thanks

“Friendly pub with good beer and excellent food”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

The Woolpack is a hotel, bar, and cafe so there are three distinct areas to enjoy a drink or some food. As well as the main kitchen there is a wood-fired pizza oven (worth waiting while it warms up). The menu focuses on locally sourced food, including lamb, beef, pork, pheasant, and seafood (depending on the weather). The food is not fancy, but it's delicious. I had the mutton burger (with gluten-free bread, and fries), and a gluten-free ham and mushroom pizza, and both meals were really good. At under £10 I thought the main meals were very good value. The home-steeped sloe and damson gins are a nice touch, and were delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient.

“Great place to stay in the Lake District”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

Had a really good stay at The Woolpack Inn, decided to approach via the Hardknott Pass which was interesting to say the least.

The Inn has a really nice bar area and a games room in you like to play darts or shoot some pool.

Rooms are a good size and the breakfast in the morning really hit the spot.

Tip: there is a really nice walk from opposite the Inn down to St Catherine's Church along by the river - would recommend.
