“The most perfect cottage in the Lakes”

Our party consisted of my husband and I and a group of friends. We all fell in love with Church House. Its location cannot be beaten. The wonderful views of the fells all around, the sound of the river flowing in the distance and we were even honoured by a red squirrel on the lawn one morning!
The cottage itself is renovated to the highest level of specification. It was like staying in our own personal boutique hotel all week. I have never stayed in a rental cottage that was so well equipped even down to washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and candles!
We will certainly return again and I think a lot of our friends felt the same. We all had Church House withdrawal symptoms once we left!

“The Jewel in The Lakes”
Reviewed 24 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

A fabulous property in a stunning peaceful location, ideal base for exploring The Lakes or just relaxing away from it all. The House had everything, was very well equipped, warm and cosy, tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Another of Didy's fantastic properties, our third property of her four, so far, and our seventh break at her properties. We were not disappointed.
Unfortunately, we had to cut short our stay because of the forecast of snow blizzards for that area, 12 hrs later all roads were blocked and closed. It would have been magical to have stayed longer, if only we had the time to have been snowed in there for another week!

“A perfect break away in a luxurious cottage equipped with everything you could need!”
Reviewed 26 November 2012 for a stay in November 2012

Church House is cosy, warm and welcoming but also boasts all the modern facilities you could wish for - from a huge fridge freezer perfect for self catering, to two flat screen TVs and underfloor heating throughout.

Whatever the weather throws at you from the spectacular fells that surround you, you're sure to be snug and dry with a roaring log fire (all fuel provided) and lots of comfy sofas and chairs to sink into and just relax.

There's no phone reception (unless you stand on one leg at the top end of the drive) and definitely no wi-fi but that's what makes a break away at Church House so special - you're off grid, away from all the stresses and noise of everyday life. However there's a number of pubs within striking distance so you're certainly not in the middle of nowhere!

The cottage has been beautifully and sympathetically restored with some gorgeous features. The furnishings and finishing touches are guaranteed to make you feel right at home - in fact they'll make you want to stay forever!
