“Fascinating, friendly and quirky and great value”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Visited from the campsite next door. We actually arrived half an hour before it officially opened but the miller heard us and was happy to open up early. He was also a mine of information

When you walk in it looks really ramshackle, and I must confess that my heart sank a little at first, but it soon becomes apparent how fascinating and quirky it is. On reflection I think that its a refreshing to see a working watermill that is roughly how it would have been at the time rather than the sanitised version that you see at so many other attractions. There are plenty of diagrams, descriptions and also details of local history.

We spent a fascinating couple of hours and it was great value

Ramshackle place with real character - interesting and amusing! See beyond the clutter - it's really quite cool!

“Quaint”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

What a lovely place. Absolutely full of memorabilia and things to try out. This is a lovely Mill still in the throws of being restored but is like stepping back in time. There is a lovely little garden where you can have a picnic and so much to explore. The Mill has twin water wheels. Not really suitable for disabled unless you are able to walk around but well worth a visit and entrance is very cheap.

“Very English”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

The mill is a wonder of wooden machines with an outside area next to some falls for a picnic. Quite literally everything has been labelled by your slightly eccentric host causing a fair few giggles.
