We recently stayed at Alwyn and Paul's bed and breakfast whilst on a short visit to the Lake District. Paul and Alwyn are great hosts and are willing to go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Both had a great knowledge of walking in the area and they were happy to share maps and provide advice.
The bed and breakfast itself is in a great location, close to some great walking and climbing and there's a great pub just down the road for food and beers at the end of the day. The room was lovely and had everything we needed, breakfast was a real treat as well with freshly baked bread and amazing sausages!
Thanks for the hospitality, we'll definitely be back!
Our hosts went out of their way to make us welcome & their fabulous new B&B was newly refurbished with luxurious ensuite rooms. Very spacious with everything we needed for a very comfortable 2 night stay & even complimentary dressing gown & slippers! Breakfast was a delicious hearty full english / cereal / fruit with homemade bread made by the host herself.
All this set in beautiful surroundings & rolling countryside, views to die for!
A very restful break which is why we went & I would highly recommend a visit.
We were in a large spacious room that looked out onto an amazing view of the fells. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a fantastic nights sleep. The en-suite bathroom was fab, had all the bits and pieces we needed and felt luxury. The room had a coffee & tea tray with a kettle along with milk, sugar, biscuits and hot chocolate. I loved that the room had dressing gowns and slippers hung up ready and waiting for us!
A highlight for me was the home made loaf of bread that the host serves toasted with breakfast, it was a really lovely and special touch to our dining experience.
The area is fantastic for walking routes and outdoor activities. We'll definitely be going back and I highly recommend staying here.
We stayed here for four nights and had a lovely time at Alwyn and Paul's B&B.
It's a win win situation: a stunning (bath-)room (don't forget the kingsize bed), a delicious breakfast. But the cherry on the cake must be Paul's knowledge about the Duddon valley and beyond, he gave us tips, advice and maps for some of the best walks we made in our live.

We most definitely come back some day.
