Booked for Sunday dinner. All had a roast. Was very tasty & great selection of veg. Nice relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. Best to book as people were being turned away. Would go back again.

“Excellent pub”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Fabulous pub with good beer selection and great menu. The cassoulet (on the menu as the Full Monty) was so delicious I went back another day and had it again. Gets very busy so best to book in advance but does take aways on the full menu. Staff very friendly and efficient. Seats out front and in the beer garden plus a locals bar showing Sky Sports. All in all a lovely place to spend some time.

“Very nice place to eat in Broughton”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Excellent choice of food from both menu and extensive specials board. It was also well presented and very tasty. The service was quite slow but the restaurant was busy. We would go again.

“Great pub, great food”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

We visited this pub twice in one week. Why? Because once wasn't enough. The first visit I had an absolutely gorgeous beef casserole. I have actually never had a casserole with such large pieces of beef in. It was rich, slow cooked and melted in the mouth. My partner had a Pasta Arrabattia with chicken and bacon, again absolutely beautiful. My daughter had a baby roast chicken.
They have some fabulously quirky ways of serving. Chips are in mini chip fryer baskets. Veg are in a mini colander, and gravy in a mini saucepan.
On the second visit, I had Cumberland sausage, mushroom, black pudding and butter bean cassoulet, served (again quirkily) in a frying pan. Absolutely gorgeous food. My partner had Mackerel fillets on Teryaki rice and my daughter had Chilli and tacos.
There was nothing we could find fault with at all.
The staff are brilliant and the service superb. We would advise booking though as it is very very popular. Thankyou to all at the Black Cock for helping to make our week's break perfect.

“Fabulous Food”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Had a wonderful meal at the Back Cock last Monday night. For a Monday night the place was pretty busy. I has the Prawn starter and Sirloin steak. Bothy were prepared and presented very well and tasted fabulous. There's a good varied menu and the prices arent half bad. They even sell Lancaster real ale too. Definitely worth a visit.
