Our takeaway service also offers generously filled sandwiches made with our own bread and fresh homemade soups. Alternatively you can sit in our modest, cosy 32 seater cafe which offers free Wi-Fi, magazines, chalks and blackboards (!) or on comfy sofas in front of the wood burning stove. Our menu has been created around our bakery produce offering down-to-earth, good quality food made from flavoursome ingredients which are sourced locally and organically.

This is a great place - surprisingly spacious inside. Food is excellent - generous portions and very tasty. We went for a late lunchtime meal to fuel up before the long journey back down south. Quiches, chilli and pies highly recommended - dishes served with lovely salads, crisps and yummy bread. My 2.5 year old daughter loved her meal - lots of little surprises on her lunch platter - sandwich, carrots, raisons, cookie, jelly beans and babies, lolly - she loved it almost as much as the scare crow - aka -'bread crow' in the window! Waitresses were also fab! Great place!

We have spent the last week searching South Cumbria for the best tea and scones and now the search is over.
We went yesterday ( having been told about it, which is sad when we live a short distance away ) and the scones, choice of other things and tea was brilliant. ( even served in an old fashioned way). Our waitress was attentive, knowledgable and polite. The cost was reasonable. This would be the most recommended place in the area and we look forward to going back on Sunday. One word of note is that it doesnt open on a monday.

We came in here 2 or 3 times during the week, was always busy, both for the shop and the restaurant sections. The food and service were excellent, and the scones were fantastic!
Will certainly go back!

My wife and I visited the bakery twice last week, WOW!! the BAGEL was just something else !! Fantastic to say the lest. The meals we saw going to peoples tables were just great and we will be visiting again in December when we will try other offerings. I noticed somebody said in a review they thought it good but expensive, It`s not what we thought NO WAY. Keep the good work up, it was just GREAT, thankyou.
