“best bakery in Lake district”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

We loved this charming bakery and cafe. We had a lovely lunch of broccoli and feta quiche, carrot and tomato soup, fantastic bread baked at the cafe, and yummy scones and shortbread. Everything was great. We drove specially to reach this cafe and would do it again any day.

“Eggy breadtastic”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Second visit to Broughton-in-Furness and a welcome return to this great bakery. The eggy bread is divine! Service is prompt and cheerful. The bakery itself has lots of delicious cakes, pies and loaves and all at pretty reasonable prices.

“Never mind the full english try their omelettes!”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

We'd been here before and loved the food, service and atmosphere, so we decided to stop for breakfast on the way. I'd set my heart on a full English so was initially put off as they only served omelettes but I needn't have worried. I had the Denver omelette which was huge and full of cheese and peppers, together with 2 massive doorsteps of toast with butter and marmalade which made for a great start to the day

“Fabulous”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We had eggy bread, bacon roll, toast and and a pot of tea. Superb surroundings, pleasant staff and the best breakfast I have ever had in any café. I liked the comment sheets on the table, the little handmade tea cosies and being asked if I would like my teapot topped up with hot water, The bakery bread was delicious and the bacon succulent. Scrummy! Thank you..

“Wonderful find! ”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

This is a great place - surprisingly spacious inside. Food is excellent - generous portions and very tasty. We went for a late lunchtime meal to fuel up before the long journey back down south. Quiches, chilli and pies highly recommended - dishes served with lovely salads, crisps and yummy bread. My 2.5 year old daughter loved her meal - lots of little surprises on her lunch platter - sandwich, carrots, raisons, cookie, jelly beans and babies, lolly - she loved it almost as much as the scare crow - aka -'bread crow' in the window! Waitresses were also fab! Great place!
