We fancied a night away and had never visited the South Lakes/Furness area before. We chose Aynsome Manor based on reviews on Tripadvisor and , as usual, were not let down.
Aynsome is a gem. Chris and Andrea and their staff could not have been friendlier. Nothing was too much trouble and they had time for a chat as well. The hotel is very comfortable with two lounges in which to relax. Our room(No 14) was in an annexe across the yard so was very quiet. The room was great, with a newly refurbished bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Lastly, the food is central to your stay at Aynsome. The quality of both dinner and breakfast was first rate.
Cartmel village itself is a great place, the pudding and cheese shops meriting particular attention.
I would also recommend visits to Ulverston and Grange.
We really enjoyed our brief stay and would like to thank Chris and Andrea in particular.

My partner and I (and two visitors) recently paid another visit to Aynesome Manor for dinner. Our previous experiences had been good but our meal on this occasion exceeded our already high expectations-a great choice of dishes all superbly cooked and presented. The service was prompt and friendly and-our enjoyment of the occasion was enhanced by the ambience in the dining room and the warmth and comfort of the lounges.A gem of a place !

After a long gold winter, a weekend at the Aynsome Manor Hotel was a perfect way to welcome springtime. Our twin room was very comfortable. There was a very wide range of items on the breakfast menu and the kippers (my choice - I don't make them at home due to the smell!) were second-to-none. The building is quite a rabbit warren - and nonetheless charming for it. Being in the countryside, there is very limited access to TV channels. Perhaps the rooms would be better without televisions (just with radios, perhaps)!

My only criticisms would be that it would have been good if there was blue badge parking adjacent to the front door* and it have been nice to have been offered assistance to carry my bag upstairs. Finally, internet access is intermittent - a good reason to leave your work behind you and concentrate on relaxing.
*my apologies if I didn't notice it due to it being occupied already by another vehicle.

Room Tip: If you don't want to climb lots of stairs and negotiate various fire doors en route to your room, I recommend mentioning this when booking.

This is just such a gorgeous hotel it has fabulous views over Cartmel. When you drive up it looks very impressive and the entrance way is just so English and beautifully decorated. Reception was so welcoming and took us to a gorgeous room. So large with a huge bathroom. It had all the little extras I love, fresh milk, high quality toiletries, beautiful crisp clean bedding so clean. We went for a walk before dinner - the walk was in a helpful folder with printed sheets in the bedroom. The walk was amazing straight out of the front door through the beautiful village of Cartmel and up onto the fellls with incredible views all round. We had delicious local beers in the bar before dinner it was such a gorgeous cosy room. Service was impeccable and so friendly. Small menu which I love and I was not let down every course was beautifully cooked. The wine list was excellent a varied choice and prices to suit all some hotels have poor choice and charge a fortune. We had coffee in a tasteful lounge with a roaring fire. Breakfast was as high quality as every thing else.

Room Tip: Room 12 was gorgeous

Just returned from another amazing weekend at Aynsome Manor Hotel for my husband's birthday.
The welcome is warm as are the wonderful log fires, the food is amazing and the choice is good. The hotel is a home from home to us now, we have been visiting for over 10 years, usually once or twice a year for a weekend in the winter. Cartmel village is lovely to wander around and the walks straight form the hotel are varied. The service you receive from Chris, Andrea and their team is fantastic and can't be beaten. The rooms are homely and very comfortable. Would highly recommend for a relaxing weekend.
