“Perfect cottage”
Reviewed 19 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Absolutely wonderful cottage. perfect in every way. Ideally placed for exploring the lakes. An easy walk into Cartmel and good food offered in the local .pubs.
Many good circular walks from the door, 4mls circuit to Holker Hall and also Grange, so no need to use the car!
Booking our next stay at The Coachmans and looking forward crossing more walks off the list.

“Just Perfect...”
Reviewed 4 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

After staying in May for a week we came home and booked back up for another relaxing break at the cottage. We walked this time to Holker Hall through the racecourse which took around 2 hours, great walk and plenty of information if you fancy of other lovely walks in the area. The cottage has everything you need including mini torches which were very handy this time with the dark nights as we made our way back from the village. What more can I say, this place is a gem with everything you need.....looking forward to booking up again for next year. Thank you xx

“We just want to live here!!”

We have had the most delightful week in this perfect cottage. My father who is 87 really enjoyed his 3 night stay at the cottage before we took him back home to Newcastle. He found the cottage great as he has limited walking ability and is looking forward to returning next year. The cottage has everything you need what more can I say, so thankful of the hairdryer as mine blew up on the third day!!. I took some supplies with us and it was nice to see a pint of milk in the fridge on our arrival and tea bags, sugar etc if we needed. A fantastic selection of maps and information leaflets to look through and also a great selection of books and dvd's.......we did watch the Vicar of Dibley, thank you. On the site between two lodges just to the left of the cottage is a lovely orchard with two tables where you can enjoy the sun late into the day and great if you have children so they can run around. A lovely 10 minute walk if that into Cartmel village where we enjoyed evening meals at the Royal Oak which has a huge beer garden and the Kings Arms with seating out front. The Cavendish just off the main square is also very nice and they have tables out front and back. A lovely selection of shops and of course you must get the Cartmel sticky toffee pudding!! Well all I can say is thank you Bridget for a wonderful cottage and we have just booked up to go again this October to spend our 2nd wedding anniversary at the cottage.......

We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful time at Coachman's Cottage, thank you for sharing your thoughts on your stay. It is great to hear that yourselves and your father were able to enjoy the facilities on offer at the property, as well as sampling the delights of the surrounding area - having the selection of pubs with outside space to enjoy the weather sounds fabulous! We will be sure to pass your lovely compliments along to the owner and will keep our eyes peeled for your anniversary booking!

“A beautiful holiday cottage with a view”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

I stay din this cottage with my Grandmother and friend. We were so impressed from the outset at the presentation yet homeliness of this cottage. There was everything you could possibly need along with the beauty of a historic country cottage. The property was very easy to navigate for my grandmother as it was all on one level.

I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a holiday cottage in close proximity to the Lake District.

“Perfect ”
Reviewed 21 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Just came back from a really lovely week away in the lakes. This gorgeous cosy cottage is perfectly situated to go exploring. Stayed with our daughters 5 and 2 and they loved it here too. Couldn't ask for any better, definitely a 5* service, is home from home not one negative point. Will definitely be staying again. Recommended to family and friends. Didn't want to leave.

“Quirky and cosy”
Reviewed 25 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

A friendly place to stay. Beautiful varied walks right from the door, with good food and drink a short walk away too. Very good road network to explore the rest of the lakes and cumbria.
The cottage was clean, well equipped and very comfortably furnished. It is also warm and cosy with a very good tv and good Internet connection. There is also an interesting selection of board games, books and DVDs.
