“Nice house, great location!”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

It was the second time we came from Belgium to visit the lake district. In our previous visit, we found out that this side of the district is a very peacefull and beautifull one. We find our lodge in a very nice and quiet valley. The lodges are all very nice as is the grounds around them. Lots of space for the children. They liked the little pond aswell. The barn would be nice when raining, but we had the luck of having a week of sunshine. Inside the cottage (Barngarth) wa had everything we needed. The pots and pans could be bigger for a family of five, but the we found some extras in the barn just next to our cottage. The barn is not mentioned in previous messages very much. This was something I did not knew our saw before we left. Outside of two bedrooms and our sofa the barn was the view. But he surrounding mountainviews around it compensate this. The owner of the cottages has a good eye for details. The maps with walks and nice places to visit, made a great deal of our vacation. The phone with satalite connection was helpfull to. If there was one thing that could be nice to, that would be some more plants or trees around the cottage to ensure some more privacy in the cottages as there was a clear view in the cottage next to ours. We had a great stay, a memorable week and will return for sure as we did not had the chance of exploring everything yet.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

I loved staying in the lodge, it was very comfortable and clean, lovely log fire for cold evenings. Safe place for young children to play. Countryside all around, excellent for walks. Local pubs for eating out. Has free sat TV for evenings in. Also has free wi-fi. Good location for visiting south and west lakes. Would go back.

“Great stay!”
Reviewed 14 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Just come back from a great few days in the Lakes. We chose Fisherground Lodges because of its great location and proximity to some of the best hiking that the Lake District has to offer.

We certainly weren't disappointed! Pete who runs the lodges there was very helpful throughout the whole booking process and answering questions whilst we were there. The lodges themselves are very well appointed, clean and have a lovely wood burning stove (logs provided). They contain everything you need to just turn up and enjoy the fantastic surroundings including local guides and maps of places of interest. There are also a couple of very good local pubs nearby serving great food and local ales.

Long walks/cycles can be taken directly from the front porch of the lodges and Scafell is only a short drive away.

All in all, it was a great few days we spent there and highly recommend these lodges to anyone wishing to experience the real Lake District.

“We cannot fault this place!”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We've visited Eskdale 4 years running now. We've always camped in the adjacent campsite which is also great. We fancied something a bit more relaxing this time round.

I cannot say enough about this place, and wished we had gone here sooner. Excellent customer service, Exceptional standards of cleanliness and hospitality. Thank you very much for the wood, and free WiFi. We enjoyed our stay very much, and will definitely be returning in the not to distant future. We stayed in the crag view accommodation. Glad we got the upgrade! We had everything we needed for a fantastic break!!!!
Well worth every penny!

This business understands it's customers! Great job! and thank you.
