“Sad and neglected”
Reviewed 22 May 2012

I visited this church, but on a weekday. It looked like an interesting building. The churchyard was very sad and neglected, which was a pity. But I guess money is tight in these times.

“Viking Treasures of Old”
Reviewed 26 April 2012

While visiting the Lake District, you might want to stop and visit this Church. St. Mary's has several Viking relic's in stone. It was an interesting find for us. Outside in the graveyard is a very tall Viking cross with carvings (Only one of four left standing). Inside you will find more carvings in stone. Be sure to look around the door outside and all area's inside or you will miss some of the carvings.
