The splendid four poster in the Old Dairy was so comfortable that we almost missed breakfast! A warm welcome, lovely scones and fires all made for a brief but relaxing stay. Having family in the area we look forward to returning for a longer stay when the tea room is open so that we can sample some more delicious home cooking and produce.

Room Tip: We had our small dog with us and the very spacious Dairy room at ground level was, convenient and id...

Having bought a Groupon voucher, we stayed here on Friday 2nd November 2012. I had looked at the website before we arrived and specificly requested to stay in the Lowfell Room. Upon our arrival we were shown to the tea rooms where we had home made scones and tea - wow! The scones have to be the best i have ever tasted!! We were then introduced to Hazel and shown to our room. Everything you read in the reviews about Hazel is true! She is one of the nicest people you could ever meet, welcomes you into her home, full of smiles, just an all round lovely, lovely lady and her dog - Paws - is the most adorable big softie! The Lowfell room is lovely, roll top bath which over looks the fields, a lovely big bed, home made biscuits, plenty of teas and coffee etc, bottled water, also provided is bubble bath, shampoo etc. There is no TV's in the room, we thought we may get bored without a TV but by the time we had been in the hot tub, had a bath and a look about we werent bored at all. The hot tub is a must! It was icey cold outside and pitch black but the hot tub was so warm we stayed out there for hours! New House Farm also allows you to take your pets for a £7 suppliment which is excellent because not many nice establishments like this allow pets! Although pets are allowed the place was nipping clean, no dog hairs from previous visitors. Breakfast was lovely and presented very well with a nice big sausage. Despite being so busy looking after and running everything Hazel was more than happy to take the time to chat to us, even sent us on our way with painkillers and water for my headache! All in all it is a fantastic get away with a lovely host, all i would say is take your swim wear for the hot tub and something to read with there being no TV. Oh and forgot to mention there is a lovely little pub just up the road that does the most amazing food and the portions are HUGE! if you want a good meal that is the place to go! :)

Room Tip: Low fell room is amazing!

Spent a Sunday night at this luxury bed and breakfast using Groupon, we had booked the Low Fell room. We entered the main building and were welcomed by a lovely woodburning stove and elegant furniture. Hazel showed us to our room in the main house which was exactly the same as the photos. Lovely size with a large slipper bath in the next room. We were given bathrobes. The quality of the furniture and fittings was excellent, and good attention to detail. There was homemade shortbread and a bowl of fruit in the room. It was really cold outside, but the room was lovely and warm, top quality bed and bedding. The offer included a cream tea, which we took straightaway, 2 very large scones each and a pot of tea. Luckily we had the 2 owners dogs to help us! We drove to the Wheatsheaf for a meal which was 2 miles away which was very nice. When we came back, as there was no street lighting, we could see a sky full of stars. We thought about using the hot tub, but there was already someone in it, and we didn't fancy sharing it. We sat in the lounge with the open fire reading our papers, which was very relaxing. It was wonderful waking up in the morning, when I opened the curtains, we had great views of the hills. Imagine waking up to that every morning! Breakfast was very good, nice quality. Would recommend.

Recently returned from a one night stay at this beautiful place (next time I'll definatley stay longer) in the Lake District. This is truly a place to get away from it all and forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff are all extremely polite and helpful, the room has lovely decor and is furnished to a very high standard and the views are to die for. No tv which was a bonus for us. We will definatley be returning in the near future.

We stayed at the New House Farm for two nights over the October half term. I have to admit I was apprehensive at first because, despite some fantastic reviews, everything about the place had to be just right. The reason for this was I wanted the picturesque surroundings of the Lake District to be the venue for my marriage proposal to my girlfriend. I should never have worried. The entire stay was faultless from start to finish. The establishment and the surrounding areas were stunning. The hospitality we received from all of the staff over the two days was second to none. The rooms we stayed in were not only spacious and comfortable, but elegant and luxurious. The hostess Hazel was superb from start to finish. She could not do enough for all of the guests and was influential and extremely helpful in my proposal plans. She has an award displayed in the lobby for runner-up in the AA rosette for friendliest landlady. I would love to know who came first because she really does take some beating. I would highly recommend to anyone who is viewing this hotel to book a stay there. It will not disappiont. The warm and friendly atmosphere, delicious food, stunning scenery, amazing walks and the opportunity to lounge in the hot tub under the stars while drinking champagne are all experiences I will fondly remember. We will definately be back at some point. This time with our friends in tow. Outstanding.

Room Tip: The Old Dairy was a grand and fabulous room. The Whiteside room had a fantastic jaccuzzi bath.

We stayed here earlier this month and had a great time. The guest house was very comfortable and cosy. Hazel is a brilliant host and very helpful in sending you in the right direction.

The hot tub was nice first thing in the morning as well as after a long day walking.

Great pubs nearby for dinner. Highly recommended to all.
