Price range: US$13 - US$26

Description: A warm and welcoming real ale pub, wine and cafe bar in a beautiful part of the southwest Lakes. The Punch Bowl is a laid-back, country Inn in the best traditions and we'll always try to accommodate our customers wishes...if you want something...there's no harm in asking! We serve meals on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings and our food is all made on the premises, covering a wide range of styles on our constantly changing menu. We take bookings for parties of all kinds and can open outside normal hours for private gatherings. The pub is the tap for Beckstone's Brewery and their award-winning beers and we also stock a selection of other local beers as well as some great favourites. Wine drinkers will not be disappointed by our list.

We called here for a meal on a Saturday night at the end of May whilst on Holiday close by. I phoned to book a table as I was told it got quite busy which was true.I ordered steak and my wife ordered gammon when the food arrived it was big portions the meat was thick as well as large and was cooked just as I had asked andwas delicious the same applied to my wife's food. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend trying the Punch bowl if in the area. The only downside was they didn't serve food everyday only Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday and are closed Mondays when we visited in May. We did call for a drink on the Sunday and was made welcome again by staff and locals.

Thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful meal here, sat in the beer garden on a lovely day. The service couldn’t be faulted in the slightest and it was great surprise to see a vegan option on the menu, particularly for a pub in West Cumbria. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

If you want great pub food reasonably priced go the The Punchbowl. An extensive variety of locally produced beers and ales. Friendly staff and host - what more could you ask? Nick does a great job of varying the menu so you get a fantastic choice and wonderful quality food and ales.
