We stayed at Lakeside for two nights before the Bank Holiday in August this year.

Excellent location with some really good places to go and see like Kirby Lonsdale. Would recommend the Ingleton Waterfalls if you like a good walk which is only 6 miles from Kirby.....

Food at the hotel was very good and although the drinks a little pricey the whole stay was a great relaxing time.

Room Tip: The only down side is that the hotel has no Air Conditioning so when its hot ... its hot

I don't mind paying a lot for anything if I think it's worth the money. However, other than the view, I have to admit I found this hotel overpriced for what it is. We had a premium family room which was actually quite spacious, although not lake - facing. The breakfast was very good and they were very accommodating in making things of the menu. However, the food in the brasserie was very overpriced, and we were given misinformation about the availability of vegetarian options. One night we were told to stick to the menu, and the next night we were informed that there was actually a 'create your own pasta option.' Also, two different people told us when I called from my room that the terrace stops serving lunch at 3pm, so we woke up early from a nap to rush down, only to find out that lunch is actually served till 4pm. Don't know why they would do that unless they want to keep tables free for the high tea that starts at 4pm. Overall, the experience of staying there was good, but I was glad that we didn't stay longer as we had to eat at the hotel for almost all meals due to travelling with small children, and the food was neither good, nor good value. Also, one other niggly thing is that the pool looks so inviting, but although it was a 'heated' pool, the water was several degrees colder than what we are used to at our local gym. I actually found it too cold to swim in.

This is a really lovely and relaxing hotel. The pool area was always quiet so we could really make the most of the facilities which include sauna and steam room. We also had massages which were excellent.

We ate in both restaurants and had some drinks at the bar. The food was really nice in both but the menu in the brasserie and main restaurant are very similar in the evenings and would have liked the experiences to differ a bit more.

The location is great if you are looking to relax in the hotel and stay away from the crowds but there isn't much in the local vicinity if you want to try other restaurants/pubs in the evening. We went on the boat up the lake one day and access to that is really easy as it leaves from directly outside the hotel.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. I almost forgot to say this hotel had one of my favourite breakfasts ever!

I went to the terrace restaurant outside the hotel on a blazing hot Bank Holiday Monday. So the staff were fairly busy. On the plus side there was room on their jetty for us to moor our tiny tender.
The staff were fairly busy as would be expected even at 3pm when we arrived. This caused only minor inconvenience and as the day was perfect and the view fantastic!
The real issue came with the "Club" sandwich price at a very hefty £17.95. This was no more than a bacon and chicken sandwich with a tiny amount of salad and about 10 handcut chips.
Honestly, 18 quid for a bit of a sandwich!
OK so you are paying a premium for the location, but a £10 premium?
I did not complain, as we were with friends and it looks a bit churlish, almost as if you can't afford it!

Excelent hotel , modern enough for most and retaining all the best qualities of traditional high end British resort.
I will be going back and warmly recomending it to friends and collegues.
Suitable for couples , newlyweds and families .
Not sure about corporate clients , as this is a place for rest and slowdown , althogh you can hop over to Windermere for some night life.

Absolutely stunning nature all around , best hotel I ve been in UK

We were given a £45 Afternoon Tea for 2 voucher as a gift.
The service was fantastic we were seated in the huge conservatory overlooking Lake Windermere.
Gizpatchio soup to start with followed by sandwiches then copious amounts of cake scones & desserts.
Staff were more than happy to box up the surplus cakes to enjoy at home.
A really wonderful afternoon out.
