Seen this before but never stopped before. Glad we did as it has stunning views down Lake Windermere and lovely to just sit and watch the swallow birds flying low around the area. There were ducks walking up from the lake and very tame. Very peaceful but would imagine that on a sunny day can be quite busy. You can hire row boats or go for a boat ride. There are lots of picnic benches dotted along the lake front and higher up the hill. The paths are quite steep down from the car park but it was worth the walk and we had a very relaxing couple of hours looking at the scenery looking at the wildlife and various boats on the lake. There are toilet facilities and a tea room.

Pay only for car parking. Really nice helpful lady was able to direct us as to which paths were best for my mobility scooter. ( Tip : Do not struggle back all the way to car park 1 , have driver go back to car and drive down to car park 2 , the overflow , and pick up scooter , or wheelchair or whatever, that will save using the steepish path back.)
We had a lovely morning coffee at the cafe overlooking the lake , amused ourselves watching young trainee rowers (trying to) get into their boats , and wished we could have joined them , they were having such a good laugh. For a Wednesday morning we thought the park was so very well used. Lovely picnic areas too.

This looked like such a nice place to stop and enjoy the lakes but it really was not accessible for wheelchair users- you could not pay for your car park ticket as it was up a step, it was really difficult to find which paths did not have a step and we ended up lost down in a boat yard, and the paths were really steep in the end we decided it was just not possible to get down to the lower level. I think with better signage and consideration of people with different types of mobility issues this park could be enjoyed by everyone.

Good views along the lake. Well kept and clean. With and adventure park "for all ages", so we made the most of it.

Gorgeous park and the best playground we visited during our week in The Lakes. We visited twice and although the car park is expensive that seems to be what you have to pay now to visit many lake district attractions. If you come for the playground the overflow car park is actually much nearer the playground. There is a lovely cafe/tea room and you can hire rowing boats there too although the boats weren't open for any of our visits. The zip wire on the playground was the 4 year olds favourite thing and the rocking boat was loved by the 1 year old. We had no problem getting a pram around and there is a large freshly cut grassy area to play on. No complaints at all!
