My wife found and booked this B&B. It is located in a little village in the Lake District. It is not on a sprawling farm, it really is a guest house, right next to other houses. However, for our purposes it worked very well. We went with a number of our family and "took over" the B&B.

Our room was fantastic. It was done with a tremendous amount of detail. The owner put in her touch and it shows. The bathroom was very modern and well done. The lounge and breakfast solarium were excellent. The breakfast spread was very nice and always filled us up for a day out.

The host, Jane, is very friendly, knows the area and can get things done for you if you need some help. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends. It was a lot of fun. Also, the lake district is an amazing place and should not be missed.

Me and my husband stopped in the family room for two nights. Jane was an attentive and pleasant host. The room was superb - amazing views over the valley and plenty of space. It was more like an apartment. The breakfast was excellent, wide variety of food to choose from to suit all tastes. Location was great too, twenty minutes from windermere. If eating out would recommend the anchor pub just down the road.

We spent a long weekend in the Lake District and chose Hill Crest as our base. We had a couple of events to go to and a lot of walking to do. Needless to say we were always tired and hungry upon returning to Hill Crest!

We were given some good recommendations on places to eat, and also got a large and tasty breakfast when we got up the next morning. The rooms and compact but cosy, very clean and well looked after. The bed was comfy and we never had and problems sleeping.

All in all a very nice place to stay, will happily return next time we are staying in this part of the country.

Had an amazing time of rest and relaxation at Hill Crest! First, many a thanks and words of praise to Jane - she was absolutely wonderful and accommodating! Every question we had she was able to answer, including bus information, where to rent bicycles, calling us a taxi, etc.

Upon arrival were scones and tea - which was amazing after our long journey to the B&B. Jane had upgraded us to the four poster room which was also a great surprise (that's the room I wanted initially anyway!) and it was absolutely immaculate! It was perfectly cozy and utterly romantic for the type of getaway we were looking for. All with a sparkling ensuite bathroom!

The breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious. Within walking distance is a hotel which has a restaurant and a pub next to a small river with a swan family. There are also various footpaths around for short evening walks. I cannot emphasize anymore about how great our 2 nights were at Hill Crest, I only wish we had more time to stay there. :)

We have been going to Hillcrest for 4 years now and had our honeymoon there. We try and go back each year for our anniversary.
Jane is an excellent hostess and you could not ask for anything more. We are very cautious when telling others about it in case it gets too popular and theres no room for us!!!

My wife and I plus our 3 year old grandson stayed here for 2 nights. Jane welcomed us on arrival and showed us to our room which was the one shown in the photo here. So many times do you go bed and breakfast thinking this will be great only to be let down when you get there.

Well try this place. Its like a five star hotel and everything is simply perfect. Without doubt the cleanest B&B we have ever stayed in. The bed itself was of brilliant quality and very comfortable indeed. The breakfasts were wonderful and high quality ingredients.

The decor here is out of this world and Jane certainly could do interior design. Whilst chatting to other guests Jane also provided us with helpful local information on where the best places to eat are and good routes to use.

A wonderful stay and we will certainly be calling again if we ever visit the area again.
Thank you very much. 10 out of 10 and a very well done.

What can I say that hasn't already been said?

This B&B is less about the location et al as it is about Jane, the owner. Jane was absolutely wonderful - sensitive, warm, positive and doing the best she could to make our stay memorable.

We had a very relaxing time at Hill-Crest, spent a lot of time catching up on some reading (she has a wonderful little book shelf - I hope she adds a few more 'Famous Five' books as we all went back to being kids reading those!), enjoyed the lovely service.

Fantastic place. Fantastic person.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong in here.
