We arrived at around 14.00 having travelled up from Hampshire. Jayne welcomed us with an afternoon tea and homemade scones. We stayed at the top of the house in the family room which is ideal for two adults with children as their sleeping area is separate from the main bedroom with a cupboard and shower room in between. Everything was spotless with some excellent touches and thoughtful details. Breakfast had everything on offer including a fabulous full English and the service was very good. We have stayed at many hotels and would like to say how impressed we were with everything during our stay. To top it all off Jayne made a birthday cake that was suitable for my wife who suffers from more than one food allergy. If you are thinking of staying in the Lake district look no further Andy, Kath and the girls.

We stayed for two nights at Hill Crest for a family wedding held at Lakeside Hotel. The B&B was lovely, very clean and newly decorated. Linens were cotton and towels fluffy, there were even white cotton dressing gowns and slippers. En suite bathroom was very modern with a hot water that did not run out and underfloor heating. Breakfast was more like a good hotel than a B&B, individually cooked main dishes such as eggs benedict (delicious), kippers, smoked haddock as well as the more traditional english breakfast. All ingredients were excellent, freshly sliced fruit salad with grapes, strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, and lots more. Jane was lovely, very friendly and helpful, you got the feeling she enjoyed making everything so nice for you. We would definitely recommend this B&B it was fantastic, great value for money and we will stay there again when we are in the area.

Room Tip: We were returning late each night as we had a family wedding to attend, we were put in the blue room...

we had a quick glance at trip advisor before we booked this bnb and were amazed at how great the reviews were. when we arrived we understood why! the bnb is in a lovely little town and the scenery is amazing but this is nothing in comparison to the hospitality and first class service provided by the charming and kind hostess Jane. the room was to a standard of a four star hotel and breakfasts were made to taste. she had lots of advice for us about interesting things to do and great places to eat and we were made to feel very welcome in her home. the best thing is that nothing is too hard for Jane. we forgot the phone charger as we were leaving and once we realized this we thought that rather than disturbing Jane and asking for it back we`d just get a new one. and then- a total surprise. the charger arrived to our home address with a little note from Jane. how great is that ! this sort of service sets apart the best hoteliers from good ones. we recently stayed at the Savoy and to be honest the overall level of service iin Hill Crest could give Savoy a run for its money. will definitely be going back!

I booked a 2 night stay at Hillcrest to celebrate my 40th birthday with my husband and 3 children . After researching trip advisor and reading the great reviews I knew this was the place for us!! On arrival we were not disappointed we were greeted by Jane the owner who was lovely and we were shown to our rooms which were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, janes attention to detail is fantastic! The home cooked breakfast was better than we' ve had in most four star hotels! After arriving back from a boat trip on my birthday Jane had baked me a lovely chocolate birthday cake which was a lovely touch! We will definitely be returning thanks Jane for a lovely stay!!

Room Tip: We are a family of five and had an interconnected room

Fantastic accommodation, with well presented rooms of upmost cleanliness. The host, Jane, is a pleasure to meet and her help & advise is second to none. This was our first stay with Jane, but it certainly won't be the last!!

We recently stayed here with our 9 month old baby daughter. We searched high and low to find a B&B that had a separate guest lounge so that we could chat when she went to bed at 6.30ish. But we were delighted to see that our room had a little adjoining room that we were able to put the little one in so we could stay in our main room when she went to bed.

The B&B itself is really well maintained and very clean and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent too. Definitely one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in.
