Stayed at the Patterdale Hotel the week after half term. Had read previous reports that rooms were basic which though true, they are comfortable, en suite, warm and immaculately clean. The Staff, from the Manager down to the cleaner were all pleasant, helpful, with nothing too much trouble. The restaurant is very welcoming and the food is extremely good with plenty of choice. Bar area again pleasant and the drinks are not over priced in my opinion (stayed at the Cumbria Grand in Grange last September and paid £7.00p for a wine and soda). We had a room at the front of the hotel and the view was stunning, we were also blessed with clear blue skies all week (but hard frosts at night). We will be going back for another visit.
