“Great holiday”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

We stayed a week in Swallowdale Lodge 5/4/2014, a beautiful and well equipped lodge, with wonderful views, on a great site with it's own excellent real ale pub the Haybarn Inn serving great food, what more could you ask for? All the staff were extremely friendly and couldn't have been more helpful, especially Sharon, Bev, Andy, Keith and Barbara at the pub. It seems a shame to add a note of caution to other disabled travellers, but this site is quite difficult for those on a stick like me especially as the access to the pub is steep and tricky.

It was lovely to read your review of Swallowdale Lodge following your stay with us here at Limefitt Holiday Park. We are glad you found the lodge well suited to your requirements and its outlook is like many others here, truly breathtaking.

Its wonderful to see your reviews of our Haybarn Inn, and its dedicated staff, which will be passed on. You are correct that due to our location some of the gradients are a little more difficult to overcome however we believe its all adds to our rustic charm but thank you for making other travellers aware.

Thank you once again for your kind review and we hope to see you again soon at Limefitt.

Stayed in riverbank lodge the cabin was lovely and comfortable with a river running right in front of the cabin. The site was lovely with helpful staff there was a play park for the kids and a friendly pub serving food with a games room. The nearby village of bowness was a lovely place to visit with boat rides and plenty if ducks to feed. Would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for your review of Riverbank lodge, and your lovely comments about its riverside location and comfort. Our staff are very grateful of your feedback and that you enjoyed our facilities to include the play park, and character at the Lakeland Inn. We definately recommend a visit to Bowness and the other fantastic Lakeland villages on our doorstep so we are over the moon you had chance to see them.

We look forward to seeing you again soon at Limefitt and thank you again for your recommendations.

We stayed at Limefitt Park from 29th March – 5th April. We booked via South Lakeland Holidays but were allocated one of the private owners’ lodges, the Applethwaite 10. The lodge was perfect for us, well equipped, very cosy and comfortable and an ideal location for exploring the area.

On the Sunday after we arrived we found there was a problem with the oven so off we went to reception to report it. Yve, one of the receptionists, was only too happy to help but did explain that there was no one available from maintenance that day due to staff holidays but that she would report it and if no one was available would come and take a look herself. She must have called out the chap who was on holiday that day as a few hours later we had a very helpful man come and repair it for us!

The park itself was stunning, very well maintained and despite there being other lodges in close proximity to ours, they were well positioned so as to give you privacy.

There is a small shop on-site so you can stock up with a few essentials when you arrive; otherwise there is a small Morrison’s in Windermere and Tesco Express in Bowness. If you are looking to do a bigger supermarket shop then there is Booth’s in Windermere (though it’s a little pricey), or head to Kendal which is around a 20 minute drive and there is a big Morrison’s.

Limefitt is an ideal base for exploring the Lakes; just a 10 minute drive to Windermere and 5 minutes in the other direction and you are on the incredible Kirkstone Pass towards Ullswater.

There is so much to see and do in the Lakes that we could easily have stayed another week, we absolutely loved Limefitt and will most definitely be returning in the future!

Thank you so much it was wonderful to read your brilliant review of Applethwaite lodge 10 here at Limefitt Holiday Park. We are overjoyed that you found it had everything you need and describe it as perfect. Our location as previously mentioned is very important to us, a key asset and we are glad you also agree with us on this. We were sorry to hear you had a fault with your oven, but I was glad to hear our maintenance engineer attended and resolved it promptly. We always ensure that we are able to provide a good service level to resolve any little issues and encourage all our guests to let us know if they have any concerns that we can resolve whilst they are on park so that you can continue to enjoy your stay with us.

We are overwhelmed with your fantastic review of the park and presentation that we work so hard on. Our little convenience store has the essentials to get by on your Lakeland Trip, and even through we feel tucked away from the busy local towns we are only 20 minutes away from large superstores like Morrison's and Asda, and the large shopping centres in Kendal.

We don't think you can get a better location for exploring the lakes and still not been to far from the larger amenities which is why Limefitt is such a popular holiday destination.

We look forward to you returning to stay with us very soon and thank you once again for your lovely review and recommendations.

Just had a great short break at Limefitt Holiday Park. We stayed 3 nights at The Kingfisher Lodge (28/3/14) which was beautifully located at the edge of the stream/beck which passes through the park, the lodge was well equipped, very cosy & dog friendly.

Yve at reception made us feel very at home & gave us all the info we needed to make our break a success. There are some great walks (think the dog came home an inch shorter ;) ) & pubs right on your door step & we will certainly be returning,

Thank you for your review of Limefitt Park and we are very pleased to see you enjoyed your 3 night stay with us. The Beckside location is loved by many and constantly receives fantastic reviews, we are more than happy to add you to this list. We were delighted to see that everything you needed was in the lodge, and you found it very cosy, and dog friendly.

I will pass on your lovely comments to Yve, who will be over the moon to hear of your wonderful stay, we pride ourself on the customer service and always aim to provide all the assistance we can to all our guests.

It was great to read that you made use of the parks fantastic location and enjoyed some of the wonderful walks that start at the foot of the park, even if the dog did come back an inch shorter.

It is great's to hear you made use of some of the charming Lakeland pubs and sight's that are right on our doorstep and I hope that you come back and visit us all again soon.

It was fantastic to hear of your fantastic romantic short break with us here at Limefitt Park, we are glad the accommodation was perfect and well equipped and clean for you on arrival.

We too love your Lakeland views, and amazing scenery that constantly changes from season to season, and keeping on top of the park is a task the ground staff do with great pride.

I am really pleased that you found all the team to be giving great levels of customer service and your comments will be passed on. We hope to see you again soon at Limefitt for another romantic break".

We stayed in a privately owned lodge within Limefitt Park. The park is excellently situated for exploring the South Lakes and was very peaceful and well kept.

The park had good facilities including a family friendly pub and a sweet little shop. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return.

This spacious lodge is amazing with comfy beds, big fluffy towels, modern equipment, a hot tub, jacuzzi, and stunning views. I could go on, but you need to see it for yourself. We took our labrador, and she really enjoyed the 'dog field' where she met lots of doggy friends. The little shop on site is stocked with basic essentials, and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Limefitt is set in a valley surrounded by the beautiful Lakeland hills, and I can fully recommend this lovely park, and beautiful lodge. It was all so perfect.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your comments on Trip Advisor we are over the moon to read your review, once again a fantastic review of our prized accommodation and its stunning views. We totally agree there is nothing better than seeing Limefitt for yourselves and we have the pleasure of this every day and never take this for granted. It was great to hear that you made use of the dog field overlooked by some of the best Lakeland fells the area has to offer.

I was pleased that you were able to make use of our little shop in our rustic 16th century watermill which our staff love being part of everyday which as you say is stocked with the essentials needed when you are away.

Thank you so much for your lovely review we really do appreciate all our reviews good and bad and the team here at Limefitt enjoy reading them and knowing when we have been part of creating some amazing holiday memories for our guests, and we look forward to welcoming you back to see us all again soon.
