My husband and i have stayed for our first and second wedding anniversary (january 2012, 2013 ), we also stayed in nov 2012 when he got back from a 7 month tour of afgan. It was much needed!!!. Its perfect, relaxing , fabulous service , superb dining and accomodation. We are looking forward to booking our 3rd anniversary at broadoaks in jan 2014, we dont usually go more than once to a place but we very much doubt we would find anywhere better!

My partner and I treated ourselves(as well as our dog) to a night’s stay at Broadoaks and what an amazing time we had.
The surroundings are breathe taking and would ensure any special occasion to be memorable.
We all felt welcomed and pampered by the entire staff from the very onset, their hospitality and professionalism was extremely impressive.
The afternoon cream tea was such a lovely treat, not to mention the four course dinner, which was just phenomenal. To have enjoyed such a culinary experience alone, would tempt anyone to stay here.
To have experienced this level of hospitality in a dog friendly accommodation, is very welcomed and extremely appreciated.
I’m looking forward to another opportunity to stay in Broadoaks, hopefully sometime soon.

This hotel has to be the best location I have ever been to, and the quality of the rooms was breath-taking. However I found the staff unfriendly and slightly snobbish except the male who I assume is Nigel. Therefore I would feel uncomfortable returning. Other people may not share my experience, and I think this would be well suited to couples honey-mooning who would optimally spend most of their time alone.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review , as you can see from our many other reviews we are lucky enough to have an amazing team at Broadoaks .We have a few chaps front of house who are all very charming at a guess looking at the date that you stayed I think the person that you are referring to was either Pav or David as Nigel was on his days off .

Like our guests all of our staff have different personalities , we are sorry that you thought us to be a little snobbish , that is certainly not a word that we have heard before when referring to our team as we consider ourselves to be a friendly bunch . If you do change your mind , we would love to welcome you and your 4 legged friend to Broadoaks once again .

I have just got back after my daughters Civil Ceremony at Broadoaks. The hotels location is spectacular but the service did not live up to its location. Standing out from this Nigel was Superb a true gentleman that made the day so very special. Nigel's attention to detail and the customers need's was outstanding and I truly recommend a trip but make sure Nigel is on duty.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review , however we would like to add a few comments . As you can see from our many other reviews we have an extraordinary team at Broadoaks . Many of the team are not always visible to our customers due to the roll that they have especially when we are running ceremony's , also due to days off our front of house team does change daily .
Nigel by his very nature is a showman and we love him for that , he is however part of our overall team and is only able to do his job due to the support of the entire team .For this reason we think that it is a little unfair for you to inform our readers to ensure that only he is on duty , he is of course thrilled to have been given a mention . On behalf of the management team at Broadoaks we would like to thank the rest of the team that worked tirelessly on the day , especially the ones that set up the outdoor ceremony lawn up in only 30 mins when the weather decided to be kind to us ....it must have been that sun dance that the chef did ....or was it Nigel in his superman outfit wearing his underpants on top of his trousers again :-)

I have just returned from a stay here for my honeymoon and all I can say is WOW!!!!!! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left I was impressed. We stayed for two nights from 21-23rd August. On arrival we had cream tea, which was so tasty. We then were shown to our room, Ash, which was in the main house and had the most gorgeous view down the drive. The room was beautiful and it must have been the most comfiest bed I ever slept in! We also had a four course meal on the first night of our stay and this was out of this world, it began with canapés in the music room, and then was followed by a fantastic meal in the restaurant. I honestly can't think of any criticism of this hotel and we are already planning our next trip!

We stayed here for 2 nights mid August and were delighted with the location and facilities. We did ask to be moved from the coach house as we found it noisy - guests dogs barking all night, other guests having jacuzzi baths at 1am, generally noisy plumbing - but the staff couldn't have been more understanding or helpful. Our second room, Oak, in the main house was gorgeous and we had a blissful nights sleep. The breakfast was plentiful with plenty of choice for my veggie husband and the evening meal wonderful especially canapes in the music room. The house itself in beautiful, quirky, interesting and delightful. Would recommend for the fabulous location and service that was second to none.

Room Tip: Go for the main house unless you dont mind inconsiderate fellow guests bathing at all hours!

beautiful, quirky, interesting and delightful.....WE LIKE THAT

Many apologies about the other guests being a bit noisy , at 1am the noise of a spa bath does travel a bit ,also our beautiful, quirky, interesting and delightful plumbing does not help as it does rattle a bit .

We have had the plumber take a look and have tightened up a few bits so fingers crossed we have it sorted now .

Thanks for taking the time to write your review and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Arrived early and afternoon tea organised straight away whilst the assistant manager went to check room. Room decent size with large four poster bed (creaky) and spa bath large enough for two!
The four course dinner was superb and very well presented not quite silver service standard but with some fine tuning easily achievable. Breakfast too was of a very acceptable standard.

Now the sour taste........... Booked through Travelzoo and sold the package based on huge savings. Not true!!!! On checking room rates in room we found highly exaggerated prices used to manipulate discounts. One example £50 for one hour later checkout. Not needed and no credit for checking out one hour early!! One scone and tea £8.95 per person

Next time will not get caught but would negotiate direct

Dear FoodiesRus ( love the name by the way !) . Thank you so much for your kind comments about our food on this review and in the other review that you gave about our Oaks restaurant. We are a little upset to hear about your cream tea experience . After breakfast our chef makes up individual slates for all the bookings that we know we have that have 2 large home made scones on it along with home made preserve & cream . Tea and Coffee is also served with the cream tea and you can have as many cups as you wish . At £8.95 per person we think this is very good value for money . If you did not receive this experience then we would welcome a call with you to discuss what you did have please feel free to call the hotel and ask for either Jane or myself ( Tracey ) , we will gladly refund you the money even though you purchased an all inclusive voucher through Travelzoo . We do love dealing with our guests directly so we can fully personalise the experience , our offers with Travelzoo and Groupon are amazing value but they do have some restrictions regarding choice of specific rooms and some key dates , so we would always urge those who are really wanting a personalised experience to call us directly .
FoodiesRus we look forward to hearing from you .
