me and my partner visited here last weekend, We were worried it would be awful based on previous reviews but it was really good.
Seen a lot of animals I hadnt seen before in fact and like how a few can roam about and dont seem so caged up. Also in the inddor bit they have ants walking over your head and bats hanging upside down and a bird swooping about! Also theres birds in the avery that just wander about beside you. I enjoyed all this little touches.
They are doing renovations which will improve it a lot for future visitors!

Thank Cheryl H

Visited today with our young daughter. They are in the middle of renovations in parts of the zoo which will be great for future visitors when finished. The indoor sections held reptiles and insects including ants walking over your head and bats hanging upside down which was fab. Informative signage to educate about reptiles, amphibians and mammals etc. great learning tools. Outside housed the lovely snow leopards, lemurs, marmoset monkeys and variety of other mammals and birds. We also visited the cafe which was well priced and something to suit most people. We didn't need too long there but saw everything and enjoyed it, I imagine longer could be spent there once the renovations are complete and if events were on. Noticed annual passes were good value if visitors live fairly local. would recommend just not enough there to keep us there the whole day as our child is of Pre-school age so we saw and enjoyed everything but didn't hang around afterwards.

Didn't look to good from the outside nearly drove past it, it seemed closed with a couple of cars outside but thought would give it a go, we had the place to ourselves the interactive bits didn't really seem to work so we skipped to the animals. Interesting animals was surprised to see a snow leopard, little adventure didn't stay long though.

Several years ago, this was one of my eldest daughter's favourite days out, so I was looking forward to visiting in half term with my youngest. Unfortunately, it was a great disappointment. Everything looked shabby and run down, with dog-eared faded signs and dirty animal tanks. Even the cafe and toilets were grubby. Sadly, we won't be visiting again.

Last visited 2 years ago, a great experience, with many good memories, today tatty, shabby, over priced and no butterflies. The outdoor area looks unkept and in need of investment.
Brought guests which made it all the worse.
