I should declare an interest first, My mum was the cook here 70 years ago! I have no other "interest" in the place other than as a customer since those days and have seen it wax and wane in popularity but have to say that Ian and his staff have consistently kept it at the highest level it has been for many years. There is always a great selection of proper beers on tap and the food can be best described as "honest pub food" No fancy menus just a reasonably wide selection of well cooked traditional fare including daily specials at very reasonable prices and served by friendly well trained staff. Everything you could ask for in a local pub,

    • Value
    • Atmosphere
    • Service
    • Food

We had a brilliant curry during a weekend break nearby and popped into this pub to watch football - not many pubs in the area have SKY but this does- and the atmosphere was good so we had a curry there - very nice and would recommend it.

Well what can I say about this place!!! First off all I found the manager of the cross keys to be very rude and very obnoxious. I parked my van on the car park when I was approached by this horrible little man. He asked if I was coming into his pub if not move my van. I smiled and said yes. I found the bar staff very rude. And the food was disgusting. If you go here for food. DONT BOTHER

While the pub itself isn't bad and the beer selection is decent, the landlord, sadly, is the venue's biggest let down. He seems to have been caught by the misery bug which has infected the rest of his staff, making a visit to the Cross Keys sadly unpleasant.

Nice pub and pub restaurant. Everyone welcome, good value pub grub and some good walks around to boot.
