I should declare an interest first, My mum was the cook here 70 years ago! I have no other "interest" in the place other than as a customer since those days and have seen it wax and wane in popularity but have to say that Ian and his staff have consistently kept it at the highest level it has been for many years. There is always a great selection of proper beers on tap and the food can be best described as "honest pub food" No fancy menus just a reasonably wide selection of well cooked traditional fare including daily specials at very reasonable prices and served by friendly well trained staff.
