We were given 2 nights at this B&B as a present and we were very impressed. It is a lovingly restored old cottage which retains its character and charm but is very comfortable. Mike and Elaine are very friendly hosts without being overbearing and clearly enjoy running the Bay Horse. They put a lot of care and attention into making sure that everything is just right and there are a lot of nice touches like fruit fruit and chocolates in the room. Even the tea making facilities in the room included filter coffee, 'posh' biscuits and the offer of fresh milk. Everything is a touch better than you would expect. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was more than big enough and tall enough for a 6 footer! Having a location at the end of the street it was very quiet at night. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and immaculately decorated. There is a small but cosy lounge which we used one morning while waiting for the rain to stop.

The breakfast was really good, with very fresh fresh fruit, and a delicious cooked breakfast. The jam and marmalade was all home made and so good we bought some to take home. Overall, highly recommended.

Stayed at this fantastic B & B for two nights for my partner's birthday. This really is a little gem in the village of Ravenglass, a stone's throw from the beach. Delightful period property which still retains all of it's charm alongside modern comforts. Mike and Elaine, the owners were extremely accomodating to our requests. This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed at. The full english breakfast was fresh and tasty and really set us up for the day ahead. The extras in the room were appreciated, with chocs and fresh fruit as well as bottles of water.

This B & B was immaculate throughout and well worth a visit. No hesitation in recommending the Bay Horse.

Room Tip: Only a small B & B with three letting rooms. All rooms were immaculate and perfect in every way...

Undoubtedly the best B & B we have stayed at.
Elaine and Mike are a great team and both made us very welcome. The accommodation is immaculate and great attention to detail in all things made our stay very comfortable and a great pleasure.
Breakfast really set us up for the day with the sausage from the local butcher and the field mushrooms being especially good. Not to mention the homemade marmalade and jams. Outstanding!!!!
Located in the heart of the village you are only a few minutes stroll from the estuary and good pubs. We found taking a short break at the Bay Horse was a great pleasure and provided an excellent base to travel further around the Lake District.
Would like to finish by saying that the sympathetic restoration work, mainly completed by Mike and Elaine to this historic building, was a joy to see, and we look forward to returning for more of their very special hospitality.

Room Tip: We took up two of the three available, a double and a single, they were both excellent.

A clean, comfortable and charming B & B. Elaine and Mike are welcoming and hospitable. They have created a warm and quiet place to stay in the lovely and unique Northern English village of Ravenglass which, with its rail and road links, has much to recommend it to walkers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the seaside and the obvious attractions of the Lake District.

Our room was tasteful and original in its design and as good as any we have stayed in. Elaine makes lovely home made jams!

We have visited several times now as this B & B is the best we have ever stayed in. It is beautifully kept and delightfully furnished. Elaine and Mike do a wonderful breakfast and clearly make every effort to ensure their guests have a first rate experience in this lovely village.

Room Tip: The double rooms have a lovely view of Ravenglass' picturesque cottages.

Quaint in quiet location but close to the Lakes with the benefit of coast and hills more or less on the doorstep. Many things to do locally and a short drive away.
Rooms excellent and cleanliness is obviously top of priorities with Elaine & Mike who are welcoming and knowledgable hosts.
Breakfast was Devine for someone that likes his food!

Have just had a wonderful two night stay at this perfect and peaceful B&B in Ravensglass. Mike and Elaine were extremely welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautiful, clean and of a very high standard with little extras. Breakfast was superb and as someone else has mentioned it kept us going till 5pm. Could not have asked for more. We will definitely be back one day!

Room Tip: The rooms are equally as lovely.
