“A wonderful family day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

I came on this very railway line thirty years ago when I was ten. It was beautiful then and it's still beautiful now. My husband and I came here with our three children 15.11 & 10. All of us had a lovely afternoon out and there's plenty to do to make a day of it. We caught the train at Ravenglass. A beautiful little engine called The River Mite. We like to admire the beauty of an engine rather than a diesel so I'd advise you check the timetable and avoid the diesels. We travelled along the line to the end at Dalegarth. A beautiful place to visit and one to explore. Hard Knott Pass is close by if you're up for a challenge though not for the faint hearted!

“Lovely Journey”

If you can then do talk a walk upto the waterfalls situated near Dalegarth Station. Its a bit tricky specially with older people and very young ones. Not suitable if you are carrying a pram / buggy / stroller.

Stacks of beautiful Steam engines here for the enthusiast, but one does not need to be a steam enthusiast to enjoy the trip through to Eskdale, very picturesque journey for adults and children alike. a must do while in the area, either from Eskdale or Ravenglass.
