“small but different”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

Little cafe, small shop and toilets. It is a typical shop/cafe, but nicely done and food good, while you wait your return trip down on the little ratty.

“Ices By The Mite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Popped in briefly for tea and ice creams to go. Not far: merely a few yards to the south bank of the Mite estuary, a lovely spot to consume refreshments. Ice cream choice extended to about half a dozen flavours, all made by Hartley's of Egremont, a local firm. We opted for chocolate and honeycomb - both delicious. Service not terribly fast, but cheerful and welcoming. If you don't want to take away, there are tables, inside and out. What appeared to be a good selection of cakes, too. A handy port of call if you've been to Muncaster Castle or ridden on La'al Ratty.

“Super soup”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Four of us visited the café at the far end of the Ravenglass Railway. We were served efficiently and although the café was busy there were no delays. The soup was excellent, served with little loaves of bread that looked as if they were homemade and tasted really good. The whole ambience of the place was good and it would be worth planning to have lunch there when you visit the Railway

“relaxed tea stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

called in here after a walk along the coastline, and we treated ourselves to a scone and tea. both were good and served on 'vintage' crockery. Lovely views and relaxed atmosphere.
