“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Just returned from a lovely 3 night stay, everything lovely. Bedroom (room 2) massive family room with only 2 of us using it. Very clean, lovely breakfast and lots of it, lovely hosts, sat with them in their lounge to have a drink on return from night out, lovely couple. Would recommend it, plenty of places to visit nearby as well. Lovely walk in the wind and rain at wastwater Sunday blowing a gale and raining but refreshing, beautiful scenery.

First class stay, room spotless with great attention to detail.
Breakfast excellent, hot and tasty.
Val and sue provided a warm welcome with a smile, nothing was too much trouble.
While having breakfast, just by the window, treated to a display of wild birds feeding , wood pecker, nut hatches, robins, black birds ,bullfinch, blue tits and coal tits.
An exceptional place to stay, will will be back.

A warm welcome awaits you at this superbly converted old country school from Vin and Sue. The guests lounge is also used by Vin and Sue in the evenings to sit by the log fire and watch TV. There is an honesty bar in the lounge guests to use.

We stayed in a triple bedded room which was for just two of us but it was ample big enough with heating operated by the guests. The bathroom was clean and large with a bath with shower over, toilet and sink.

Breakfast was delicious and you could chose from the menu what you wanted on the Cumbrian breakfast.

We've just got back from two nights at the Muncaster Country Guest house - we'd booked one night but we liked it so much we stayed for an extra night! Sue and Vin run a lovely family guest house, it's very comfortable and they go out of their way to make you feel very much at home.
The breakfast is wonderful. Fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked.
We'd highly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying at the Muncaster Country Guest house

I have stayed in the Muncaster Guest House several times, both in their rooms and the annex flat. Both are very thoughtfully decorated and comfortably designed . The owners, Vin and Sue, are very helpful and always happy do help to do anything to make your stay more comfortable. The highlight of any stay in this B&B has to be the Cumbrian cooked breakfast - always local and always delicious.

A party of 4 of us (two couples) recently stayed at Muncaster Country Guest House to attend a friend’s wedding at Muncaster Castle. We initially chose the Guest House for the convenience of the location – Muncaster Castle is literally across the road, and very easy to access. However, on arrival we were more than pleased with our choice! We were given a friendly welcome and two large double rooms in the left wing across the corridor from each other, both of which were clean and bright with comfortable beds and attached en-suites. The view from one of the rooms wasn’t fantastic as it overlooked a courtyard, however this didn’t bother us as we didn’t spend a great deal of time in the rooms – instead we all enjoyed the cosy communal lounge with woodburner, TV/DVDs/books and honesty bar. However, what made this B&B for us was the fab breakfasts we had in the conservatory off the lounge, and the lovely owners – approachable, helpful and full of useful advice, but not at all intrusive – we instantly felt at home. Having not visited this area before, we also enjoyed the beautiful setting and the closeness to Ravenglass – definitely an area worth exploring.

I am a little late in leaving this review, I stayed at the Muncaster over two weeks in December whilst relocating for work and looking for permanent accomodation, from the very start there was a warm welcome from the owners Vin and Sue, Vin could not do enough to make my stay any better, he even went to the trouble of looking for permanent accomodation in the area for me. one of which I am now using. Watch out the breakfasts he cooks they are first class, not to good for the waistline though. One minor criticism is that the wifi is a little hit and miss in my room at the rear of the guesthouse, although easily fixed by wifi signal boosters. In all I had a great stay and considering all the hotel / guesthouses I have stayed over the years living out of a suitcase in this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a room critique. Thanks Vin and Sue
