Stayed here with my husband when we were walking the Dales Way - the room was fantastic with a large comfortable bed and great bathroom including a bath so we could relieve our aching limbs. The food was excellent (especially the pizza) and we enjoyed the real ales on offer. Would definitely consider staying again for a weekend break with some walking and relaxation.

We happened upon The Dalesman after one of the other pubs in the village had already stopped serving food. Very nice cosy atmosphered pub maintaining original features whilst also having a modern twist. The food we ordered arrived in good time, big portions and very tasty! The food was so good in fact we went back the following night for dinner and the food was equally as good. Friendly, attentive staff. Well worth a visit if in the area.

My first time staying at the Dalesman..Very cosy traditional Inn.With lots of original features. We stayed in room 1. Which is a large room with a very cosy bed. Everything you need. So nice to have a bath after a days walking The Dalesway..Will come again...

Room Tip: Lovely bath in room 1

My husband and I stayed at the Dalesman for his birthday. We stayed in room 2 which is a gorgeously decorated room with a MASSIVE, incredibly comfortable bed.

We had a meal booked for eight and were given a booth in the restaurant. Sadly some of the specials had been sold by the time we got there but the menu was interesting and varied and the food we had was fantastic. My husband had the scallops starter - the scallops were huge and very tasty. The breakfast the following morning was also lovely and represented very good value.

The building was lovely, the room was pleasant, spacious and comfortable, the service was good and the food was fantastic. There's only a very small amount of parking but there is a car park very close by which involves walking past the church which is lovely to look at.

All in all we had a great time. Thank you very much to Mike, Paul and the rest of the staff.

Me and my husband visited sedbergh for the weekend and chose to have an evening meal in the dalesman, much to our regret. The food was highly overpriced, and not that good for the price we paid. The worst part was that it appeared the owner was sat at the bar drinking and being rather loud, as stated on a previous review, this appears to be a regular occurance! Wouldn't recommend and definitely wouldn't visit again!
