“Abbey ruins”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

This was a challenging attraction as it is down a very steep hill. History of the abbey was interesting but no tea room or toilets which is a shame as it would have been useful as you could walk several paths to this site.

“So much to see”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

There is a great deal to see in the surrounding area of Shap and Shap Abbey is a delight. Also i did try to visit the Bird of Prey Centre within the grounds of Lowther Abbey but unfortunately it does not open till 5th April so i went to see Lowther Castle instead which was wonderful! My trip on Ullswater Lake was so enjoyable, although the weather was not too great. My favourite was my visit to Hawswater which was breathtaking and just before i drove there i stopped at the Hawswater Hotel were i was able to capture the beautiful red squirrels that were running around happily.
