“Weekend away”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Just had a lovely weekend at the Seacote hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel needs a bit of a facelift but for the deal we got this was not an issue. The food was good, hot, well presented, didn't have to wait long, before the staff were taking your order and serving you. Breakfast was particularly good, the usual cereals, porridge, fruit juices and English breakfast. A good selection of help yourself sweets at dinner. We enjoyed the Saturday night entertainment and Friday night bingo. Lovely surroundings and coffee on the lawn was a lovely setting after dinner.

Currently sitting on bed watching the golf (the open) but big leads hanging out the wall so reception keeps cutting off. Food is a load of c**p. Give mine away 1st time n havent got any since. Faulty towers eat your heart out. Work paid for this place not me and ill not be back because my hay fever goes mad round all the cigarette plants outside. Put locals before guests when it comes to who's getting served in que in bar.

went for a 3day break yes the hotel could do with refurbishing but you get what you pay for
food was ok specially the sweets you had a good choice yes youwere waited on by students
but they were pleasant and good mannered dawn on reception worked her socks off and dosnt
get paid enough the views from the hotel were amazing the only downside for me were the barstaff they favoured the locals more than the guests but all in all had a great time

Room Tip: all rooms are much the same

no one on reception, she was in bar sorting out another problem, rooms small need updated ,bar shabby stairways and carpets need updated in fact the whole hotel needs updated .now the food don't know were to start terrible, service slow young people waiting on to busy talkingself service for sweets waited ages for them to clear main course dishes didn't come had sweets with dirty dishes still on table.there was not one dish that was tasty , better food in the café opposite. the site of hotel is fantastic right on the beach with views to die for.this could be a gold mine if someone spent some moneyon it..

Room Tip: rooms on front have sea views but would not go back

Thought I would give my girlfriend a birthday treat of an overnight stay in The Seacote Hotel Saint Bees and thank god she is a chilled person.

We arrived to a friendly welcome and checked in. All okay so far.

Went up to the room and found all windows closed even though it was the hottest day of the year. The room was a sauna.

Decided to go for a drink in the hotel bar whilst we waited for a taxi to take us to the local Bistro. Thinking we had plenty of time (15mins) for a drink, we ended up having to rush our drinks because the bar staff could work out who was next in the queue which meant we kept getting pushed to the back.

Went out for tea to a local Bistro and had an amazing evening. We wasn't too late but arrived back at Seacote at 12am to find all the doors were locked and an A4 sized sign on the door saying hotel closes after 11pm. If you wish to stay out longer please ask reception for a late key.

Apparently, we were the only couple that didnt see this sign but it meant that my partner and me had to climb through the window of our room that we had luckily left open because the room was like a sauna earlier.

The following day we had a cooked breakfast where we had to share half a back pudding each because they hotel had ran out of food.

The whole stay was a disaster from start to finish and thankfully,my girlfriend has forgiven me because she cant stop laughing at the image of her 6ft 3inch, 17 stone boyfriend climbing backwards through and hanging upside down from a hotel bedroom window.

Not the romantic birthday treat I planned.

Caught short, 730pm, so took up availability of room so that we would have a room for the night. I have never stayed in such a revolting hotel. The reception area smells of mustiness and damp. The receptionist was very accommodating, so not her fault. The room! Ugh. The balcony was so filthy, covered in cigarette butts and weeds, and planks of wood to walk on so that you wouldn't fall through the floor. The windows covered in bird droppings and spiderwebs. The chairs ....too horrible to describe. The smell in the room. It is all like a bad bad dream. Just do not ever set foot in this hotel. What more can I say. Somebody said turn it into a hostel, maybe, that or tear it down.

very very SHABBY...breakfast appalling....looks as though a very keen DIY person has started to renovate but, jumps from job to job without finishing any of them Sevrice in the bar was terrible , in fact had one drink and left , they are cutting their own throats . Beautiful location , only thing it has going for it

Room Tip: our room was very noisy re floorboards above , thought there was a herd of cows above us
