“Great original and personal venue with great scenery”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for two days, ate at the restaurant and really enjoyed our stay. We really used the b&b as a base for enjoying the coast and beach and of course to climb some cliffs. Spectacular scenery all around.

The rooms are a little small however finished to a very good standard and comes with lots of lovely personal touches. Everything was cleaned in the rooms and the bed was very comfortable.

We had the continental breakfast on both days and were very impressed by it. Tons of selection as well as fresh fruit, cheese and some ham. Not so continental but very good and certainly worth the extra few quid to set you up for the day.

The restaurant was a great venue and the imitation carriage where we were seated was a really nice touch. We throughly enjoyed our meals and left very happy. I would say the cost was average to slightly higher than normal but for treat worth it and would go again if in the area.

Overall we really enjoyed lulus and in the sunshine St Bees was a truly great place to visit.

We stayed at start of Coast to Coast walk and enjoyed the ambience and comfortable beds. The breakfast was called 'continental' but included hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese and fresh pineapple. Set off on our walk with a spring in our step.
We stayed on a Monday night when the restaurant is closed so will have to return to try it.

Booked by Mac's as part of a package, Lulu's is located in the old station house literally on the platform, perfect for a train arrival prior to starting the C2C walk. The room and en suite were compact ( like most Band B rooms) but very comfortable. Breakfast was great, with good coffee and plenty of continental choices. The highlight was arriving to a warm welcome and a beautifully presented cream tea. As it was Monday and the bistro was closed we ate in the lovely beer garden of a nearby pub and the food was fine. would definitely recommend this spot for C2C travellers.

Stayed here for the night before we started the Coast 2 Coast. Fabulous location if you travel by train - it is the railway station. Ate dinner and it was very good. Can understand why it was full and people were prepared to wait. Rooms we're clean but really do need modernising. Breakfast excellent - really set us up for the first day.

Staying at Lulus is a home from home. Everything about our stay was first class. The friendly service is outstanding, our room was cosy and inviting, and the food was simply superb. I know that you'll stay there as a break, but by the end you'll just want to move in and live there. Lulus cannot be recommended highly enough!

We spent a night here before setting off on the Coast to Coast and found it to be a very agreeable place. It's located right at the train station (the B&B is actually the old station building), which is very convenient for those arriving by train. It's also quite centrally located in the main part of St. Bee's, so you have easy access to the handful of sights in town, as well as the various pubs and the post office. It's about half a mile, via a straight shot down one road, to the beach. We found the staff at the B&B to be friendly. Our room was typically small, but it was quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. It was one of the best nights of sleep we had in England. The bathroom was, as usual, small, but functional, with a nice (if - again - small) shower. We didn't have the cooked breakfast so I can't comment on that. We had the continental, which was just OK. There is also a restaurant right downstairs, which is a convenient dinner option. Overall we were pleased and would stay here again.
