My partner and I booked one night here as part of a getaway over Easter. Ordinarily, we're out most of the time when we go away, so every aspect of the room doesn't worry us unnecessarily, however after having just being discharged from hospital, this was supposed to be a relaxing weekend and we had to spend more time in the room than we would have ordinarily have done.
That said, the things that I'm pointing out would have still been an issue so...
1- the bathroom door didn't shut. When my fiance went down to mention this, he was told that they'd look at it tomorrow- not much good to us when we were only there for 1 night!
I cut my foot as I stepped over the carpet grip into the bathroom as it was so loose.
2- the room states flat screen TV- this is very true however our laptop has a larger screen that the TV that we had and as it was on a shelf opposite the bed, it was not best located. To add to that, as it was so high up with no way to lower it due to the length of the cable and lack of other shelf/space, you couldn't actually watch it as it was at totally the wrong angle so you could just make out vague shapes on the screen!
3- the walls were VERY thin- to the point we could hear the conversation in the room next to us. We'd set our alarm for a little later the following morning which was pointless as we heard next door's alarm go off, the, running the shower and everything they said before they went down for breakfast!!
The breakfast was actually really nice but the service was rubbish! There was a couple sitting next to us who asked for the vegetarian option for their cooked breakfast which was merely the full English minus the bacon and sausage!!
The older gentleman who we presumed to be the owner was an absolute darling and we actually felt bad complaining- he did knock off £5 the total cost but my partner and I both agreed that it was at least £25 overpriced in the first place.
We didn't spend time in the bar so can't comment on this or the food but as we walked through it, it was really busy so they must be doing something right- unfortunately, the accommodation side of it is not it....
