Please don't come in here if you fancy a vindaloo or a chicken tikka washed down with several pints of lager. There's a small menu of imaginative food, which is unlike indian food you will get elsewhere. If you are thinking of coming, I'd suggest you look at the menu so you know what its about. No alcohol sold, but you can pop to the Hawkshead brewery just a short walk away to get some quality beer to go with it.

Downsides - the only dish not really up to standard was the matter paneer, not nearly as tasty or interesting as the rest.

It's worth making clear that this is not a typical Indian restaurant. The décor is very untypical and arguably, a little cheap. The size of the menu is very small with only a handful of dishes and they only take cash. Also, they don't have a drink licence but there is a shop next door that can provide cheap drink so that helps keep the overall price down considerably. I had the beer dish and it was very good and the naan was very nice. It's worth checking out whether the menu suits you but if it does then it's very good.

A very unusual Indian experience, with dishes not usually found on the typical Indian restaurant menus. Essential to book, although if you eat early, you might be lucky to get a table. The paneer is excellent, and goes well with a meat dish - we shared, to get the benefit of two very different flavours.

We found the food to be really bland, we had two different mains and both were completely lacking in flavour and seasoning. The meats were cooked really, really well, but they are also the only flavour in the dishes, and for a curry there needs to be some real punch, not just spice. Portions were also rather small considering the price.

Great little takeaway with lovely unique menu. The choices are limited but delicious. Try the Tarka Dahl, Garlic chilli chicken and the special naan and roti breads. Gorgeous.
