“somewhere to go occasionally”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Have been going here occasionally since the garden center opened. Sometimes to buy plants, sometimes to buy books or clothes. Today I went with a friend for a light lunch in the cafeteria. Pleasant staff but quite slow serving, 2 jacket potatoes and 2 large coffees, over £17.00 so not cheap. Waited over half an hour for food to be brought to us which didn't matter as we were chatting and they tasted fine. Just a shame they aren't more efficient.

“enjoy gardening love this place”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

lovely garden centre that also has a cafe which provides snacks to hot lunches. The cafe also caters for special occasions eg children's parties mothers day lunches Easter and Christmas meals. In the garden centre they also have some clothes shops and small outlets to visit beside plants and garden furniture

“Huge Queue for Food and Drinks”
Reviewed 26 February 2014 via mobile

Seems little thought has gone into the customer experience side of the cafe in this garden centre.
We arrived and started to queue, it was at LEAST twenty minutes to get two drinks and two cakes. No idea what they were doing, but the girl on the checkout appeared to be clueless on how to use it and move the customers through quickly. They had two tills but were only using one. Cakes were very good but were all over the place, on a table as you walked in, inside a glass display on the counter and another couple by the till. Difficult to see the selection when it's ALL OVER the place. And the price of the cakes?
Not displayed and was very expensive.
Food? On the counter everything was dried up and looked awful. I pitied the guy making the hot drinks as he was super fast and organised but none of his colleagues were.
The elderly lady behind me also lost patience and the chap who sat on the next table to me said "it must take a lot of practice to be that slow in serving".
Says it all really.....

“Given up going here now.”
Reviewed 21 February 2014

I used to enjoy a trip to Blooms with friends and family as I am a keen gardener and after walking around, it was always nice to sit in their restaurant (if that's what they call it?) but I fear they have chased away the very people who were their core customers, by which I mean pensioners. Obviously they don't want the "grey pound" and have opted for attracting the "yummy mummies" with their massive buggies and screaming children by making a play area in part of what was the eating area. Not only that, but the queues for mediocre and overpriced food are interminable. No, not for me anymore - I have found a smaller, nicer establishment nearer to where I live that has quality (and cheaper) plants, serves good food without gimmicks and believes in customer service.

“do not bother”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

visited today with our 8 yr old nephew. very disappointed with the whole set up. Poorly trained staff. Did not seem to have any idea of how to run a tea shop. Asked for a glass for our nephews drink & was handed a glass that was certainly not clean, I returned it & she took it out the back to wash it so I felt the others were all of the same sub standard, no apology. The cakes were very mediocre & highly priced, will not be returning.
