We stayed here for four nights and have just got home, the Hut was absolute Heaven, so peaceful and had everything you needed, I would definitely recommend this beautiful place to anyone. Hilary was lovely and friendly, we will definitely be back.

“The perfect countryside hideaway come rain or shine.”
Reviewed 12 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Both me and my girlfriend booked the fantastic hut in February for a week in June expecting some lovely sun, this being British summer time it of course rained. This would be a problem but there is no were better to be curled up with a beer and a book than this hut. When the sun did appear we took full use of the firepit and BBQ whilst sitting near the stream that run through the bottom of the field.

Well within reach of places like Windermere and Hawkshead, The amenities inside the hut are exactly what you need, with fresh eggs and cereal. As well as scones on arrival is fantastic.

I cannot recommend this place enough a beautiful place, in a phenomenal part of the country.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 8 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Absolutely beautiful little hut if you're looking for a quiet getaway near the lakes. The hut itself is amazing and so cosy, I was surprised at how spacious the inside actually is, and all with a double bed, log burner, bathroom, kitchen and dining area, it has everything you need, even on rainy days. Hilary (the owner) was so lovely and came down to see us when we first arrived, the little extra's inside the hut are such a nice touch too; fresh scones and jam and the kitchen was stocked with some eggs, cereals, milk, juice and bread to keep us going.
I would highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back!

“Beautiful Little Place”
Reviewed 27 March 2017 for a stay in January 2017

What a nice place hidden in the countryside! We had a lovely weekend away, Hilary was superb with all the extra she added. When we arrived she had put the fire on so it was nice and warm, she had also made some scones which were very nice. Even though the weather wasn't great we still had a great time, there's alot of places you can go to - ulverston, south lakes zoo and the lake district (newby bridge, windermere and ambleside). I'm sure I will come back to this place as it has everything you need and couldn't thank Hillary enough for what she done!! (Thanks for helping me get out the mud)

“A beautiful romantic getaway”
Reviewed 22 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

This beautiful little hut is hidden away in a secluded field by a river a few miles from Ulverston.
Upon arrival we realised just how much this little hut has on offer with full size double bed, toilet, shower, two hobs, grill, dining table and a little Hobbit Log Burner. Hilary welcomed us with freshly made scones, Jam & butter and had stocked the cupboards with bread, milk, cereals, juice, beans & fresh eggs from her Farm.
During our stay in Feb the weather wasn't great so we made use of the 'fun box' which contains board games and playing cards, but there are also plenty of books to read and the bird feeders outside the window will keep you entertained with Robins and Tits enjoying a bite to eat.
A few things to note for visitors:
*The Hobbit stove thows out more heat than you may expect. We slept with the windows open in Feb.
*The hut is a few miles from a shop or pub so make sure you take anything you may want on a evening.
*There is no phone signal so booking a taxi if you plan on going to Ulverstone one evening can be tricky.

We loved our stay and will be sure to return.

“perfect tranquility in a lovely shepherds hut”
Reviewed 7 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

this was an excellent choice for a short two day break in the lakes. the owner was most kind and provide several special extras which made the stay really enjoyable. ideal for a couple or solo traveller it has easy access to the lake district and is close to Ulverston. Situated on a beautiful bend by the river , the dark night sky was amazing, star gazing made easy whilst we kept warm by the open fire pit .Very cosy inside with all you would need.

So glad you had a memorable weekend in the hut. It is perfect for getting away from it all and just chilling out, yet not too far from the market town of Ulverston. Look forward to seeing you again !!!
