We left delighted after our 4 night stay. Our room was clean, tastefully furnished and decorated and fitted our needs perfectly. Breakfast was always perfectly cooked and the local produce very tasty. It was no trouble for them to serve us earlier than normal.
After our long days in the lakes the selection of fine ales and superb meals were a godsend.
Of particular note would be the locally farmed rare breed meats on the menu, the steaks being the best we have ever eaten.
The owners and all their staff were really friendly and helpful, and overall the stay was great value for money.
We will without doubt stay again and would totally recommend it to our friends.

My husband and I were visiting the Lake District with our 2 year old son, it was a last minute trip and with it being mid week and school time we thought we would get accommodation no problem, unfortunately this was not the case. This was quite lucky for us, as by accident we happened across The White Hart Inn, it is off the main path but well worth the small detour. The staff could not of been more friendly or helpful, and were very to our little boy, even at the last minute that we arrived. We could not fault them in any way, very reasonable prices, very good food and drink, lovely location and rooms, and gain most of all FANTASTIC staff! Thankyou

I stayed here two nights on business and it is a lovely place to stay, I stayed in Room 5 which is right up in the roof and might be a challenge for anyone taller than my 5' 9", the room was well presented with plenty of tea/coffee. The bar has a good range of real ales and the food is excellent with a good selection of specials and standard pub fare. Mobile phone and internet access is not very good which is either good or bad news depending on your viewpoint, a good excuse to relax.

Room Tip: There aren't many rooms so book early

We stayed at the White Hart with our toddler for a night prior to a wedding locally.
The room was a good size and full of character, bed comfy, bathroom nicely set out.
We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal. The food is bistro styled and averagely priced.
The room we ate breakfast in had fantastic views.
Over night we had a heavy snow fall but they had cleared the car park before we left and offered to take us to the main road in case we got stuck! Certainly went above and beyond the call of duty!
Would be a great base for a walking holiday.

Had a fantastic weekend there last week. We had room number 1 which was very spacious and ate there on both evenings.
Food and staff were very good and the strawberry beer was a favourite.

Would definately stay again and would recommend to others including the breakfast. -0 yum
