An Afternoon Visit.
A bar with a large range of real ales. All the beer I tasted was very well kept, excellent in-fact. (I tried a few) The atmosphere was not too busy and relaxed, the staff were nice & very helpful.
My wife's food - BBQ Chicken and Cheese on a ciabatta with salad garnish on a melted cheese bun. Served with dressed salad, (skinny) fries and home made relish £7.50. "Good value and it tasted good"
I had the Mill Burger - On a melted cheese bun with bacon, gherkins and onion rings. Served with
dressed salad, (skinny) fries and home made relish £12.95 - Very over priced the texture of the burger felt like it was cheap, processed meat....... not what I expected for nearly £13.
Would I eat here again..... maybe but not the burger.
Would I drink here.... defiantly

Lovely venue and staff, the food was served on time and beautifully presented. The portions are generous and the flavours stunning. The place is and old mill with different areas very distinctive within each other. Nice selection of local ale on the bar and variety of liquors and spirits. Would definitely recommend if in town

We were part of a Christmas party and all enjoyed our food the kitchen cooked us the sea bass special we liked on our last visit although not on the Xmas menu. Staff friendly and food seems to be of a better standard than any other pub in town. We will be back

Visited The Mill with friends for a meal. First of all the positives- lovely old building, working mill wheel a lovely feature, really good real ale and plenty of choice with the beer. Now the over riding bad bit. The meal was just appalling- probably the worst food I've eaten! I had a steak, medium rare requested- very over cooked, it was supposed to be a rib eye but it was in fact a rather small rump I think! That was the best bit though!! Chunky chips were raw in the middle, soggy and cooked in rancid tasting oil- yuk!! Two onion rings which had the same nasty taste from the oil, some sliced mushrooms which I suspect were tinned and half a grilled tomato - that was it, no salad or vegetables. Others in the party had steaks and felt exactly the same way . We asked if we could have some french fries as the chips were inedible. The pleasant waitress brought us some but sadly they too had the nasty taste from the rancid cooking oil. Requested and paid for sauces to go with the steak- again very disappointing - little more than warm cream! We told the staff how disappointed we were but no attempt to make amends was forthcoming- not even an apology! So, all in all a massive disappointment to us all.
