Owner description: Now open in our new location. We have a vastly improved exhibition area for you to learn about the life and work of Stan Laurel, with many information boards, personal items and pictures to see. Our cinema area can accommodate around 30 people, showing films and documentaries all day. This is the first phase of our expansion plans with new things being added all the time. The Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ulverston began as the private collection of Bill Cubin, a lifelong fan. Now being run by his grandson, we hope to entertain and inform you about the worlds' best loved double act. New display recently opened. The museum began life as private collection, a wonderful jumble of memorabilia. Our new display attempts to recreate that feeling. A small room packed to the gills with pictures, statues, mugs, records, anything and everything to do with The Boys.

lots of pictures & bits of old items allegedly used by laurel at some stage, but haphazardly displayed.

shabby type of café but old food required removal.

“A must for all sons of the desert!”

A great little place for all fans of Laurel and Hardy (shame on you if you're not!) This place is great. It gives such insight into the background of the famous duo with family photos and information to give that personal touch. Lots of info and artefacts and the chance to sit and watch some old favourites on the big screen in their very own cinema. We really enjoyed this experience. Poignant, informative and hilarious all at the same time, this place is testament to one man's passion for the comedy of Laurel and Hardy. The people who work here are friendly and enthusiastic and we came away with a smile on our faces. £4.50 per adult is well worth the money, we sat and laughed through two twenty minute films which was well the admission fee alone. We now realise that a box set is essential to our DVD collection.

“An amazing hidden treasure of memorabilia”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Loved this quaint little museum dedicated to the comic pair of Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel... mainly to Laurel who came from the town of Ulverston. It was great sitting in the hall watching the films one after another and having a good laugh. The duo can always make me smile.
The place could be arranged a bit better and there seems to be so much stuff in a small space. The posters are very informative and it was a worthwhile visit.

“"Another fine mess" (Tee Hee)”

I loved this place, we spend a good couple of hours here. Quite a lot of memorabilia in one place, learned stuff about Stan and Ollie we didn't know, and could take photos in there too. The guy on the desk was really nice, chatty without overdoing it, and at only £4.50 each it was good value. They also have a small "cinema" area showing Laurel and Hardy films which was fun. Also a nice range of souvenirs for sale. Recommended.
