“A treasure of cute and quirky spaces for kids”
Reviewed 30 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Our family of three children (6, 3 and 1) thoroughly enjoyed exploring the uniqueness of this place during our stay. This was our first trip to the Lake District from the US, and we definitely felt welcome here, especially with the welcome basket of some basic groceries to get us started and the toys waiting for the kids. The ATM and grocery (Tesco Express) are conveniently located a block away.

The only surprise was that 2 bathrooms are listed, but there is only one toilet on the top floor. The second "bathroom" is a shower in the basement by the sauna.

Management Response

Dear Samsy,
Thank you very much for your review and for highlighting that there are apparently 2 bathrooms ! On our own site we do make it clear that it is just a shower room in the cellar and I think Holiday Lettings and TripAdvisor has misunderstood this - we will be correcting !
Best wishes,
Lesley Gaunt.

“Lovely,relaxing holiday...”
Reviewed 11 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

Having been to the lakes on numerous occasions but never really explored ulverston area,we came across 20 queen street whilst browsing accomadation available (usually staying at B & B's and hotels),what a gem of a period town house it is.A quirky house with a mix of old and modern features that combine to offer anyone that stays the best of both worlds. The modern kitchen and conservatory offer somewhere to relax whilst just off is the library with just about every taste accomadated. On the 2nd floor is a bedroom and the main lounge area (with honesty bar !!) which is a very comfrotable way to unwind after a day out exploring.3rd floor consists of 2 further bedrooms and the gorgeous bathroom which is well thought out ( just watch out for the cheeky ghost who liked to turn the water on and off !!) .In the cellar is the sauna which, every home should have, a fantastic feature. The house is situated in the middle of ulverston, parking can be a problem but you usually find a spot and dont forget to use the parking permit supplied.
There is a fine selection of pubs and restaurants serving most tastes we never had a bad meal and found the local pubs to be excellent both in beers, food and ambience.
We found our stay very relaxing and wouldnt hesitate to recommend 20 queen street.
