This is an absolutely lovely pub, great for a post-walk/bike beer, and for tasty food. We popped in for some lunch (clucky pie and a fishfinger sandwich - both delicious) and a beer, and liked it so much we didn't move for the rest of the afternoon. It was lovely, relaxed place to spend a few hours enjoying some ales and reading, and the staff were all extremely friendly. We liked it so much we booked a table for the next evening before we left. The food was again of a very high standard (cow pie and rack of ribs), and very satisfying. It was quickly served (very welcome after a day of mountain biking) even though the pub was busy with lots of families. We went because it was the only pub in the village, but what a great place to discover - we will be back!

Hot weekend, camping a mile down the road, ideally situated between the campsite and Grizedale visitor centre, fed the family of four , with lots of drinks for about £60, plenty of food, a lot of it locally sourced, usual burgers, lamb, sausage etc, but a good menu choice, sat in the pub garden, nice and shaded, drinks are reasonably priced, all in all a good evening out.

booked a table for six people more than a day in advance but when we arrived the only tables available were a small round side table and a small bar table pushed together in front of the bar with about a metre at the most between us. menu looked fab but service was disgusting and we walked out and went to the Outgate Inn which served us excellently two consecutive nights.

We are very disappointed that you have taken the time to write such an immature review when by the sounds of it you were only in the pub for a matter of seconds. Unfortunately I was not there the night you came to The Eagles Head but I have spoken to the staff that were working that evening. It is my understanding you booked the day before and you were told by our barman that we had no tables left for six but we could put smaller tables together. He advised you at the time to come beforehand to check you were happy and it turns out you were not. We are a small country pub that gets booked up every night. Never has anyone complained about space before.... It's part of our charm!!!!

We were staying a couple of miles away and on recommendation came to the Eagles Head. There is off road parking on site, the staff were polite and quick, the pub was clean and homely, the beer garden has great views and the food (for adults and children) is great too! Very recommended.
