“Beautiful location, great hospitality. loved it.”
Reviewed 29 October 2018 for a stay in October 2018

It was a great long weekend away for us (my wife, my 5year old daughter and me).

A fantastic place, very quiet, apples growing on the trees, farm animals within minutes from the door. Still close enough for local amenities shops, and fun things to do. A really quiet open space.

The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and the owner lives next door for some local tips on the area. She is very helpful. Wifi is free, and all the usual necessities in the cottage. We loved it.

Also for Tesla owners there are 2 x Tesla chargers on site offering 7kwh charging (16a). It kept us going when touring the area.

hope to visit again soon.

What a great review, thank you so much. Was my pleasure to host you, you were excellent guests. (Just a side note to any electric car owners reading this, there is also a charger for cars other than Tesla). Hope to see you all again.

My husband and I come to stay at this lovely, cosy cottage every year and we love it. Jenny is a wonderful attentive host, and we cannot wait for our next stay.

“Lovely stay (4th)”
Reviewed 26 October 2018 for a stay in October 2018

This was our forth stay at the cottage. We just love it here, so peaceful and cosy. We prefer coming in autumn so we have an excuse to light the fire which makes it so snug and warm. Though Jenny has installed new heating so it's warm all day long.
Jenny has always been very accommodating and a lovely host, will help with making our stay as perfect as possible and often offers a lift into the village if we plan an evening out.
We're thinking about having Xmas in the cottage.

“Lovely break at peaceful location”
Reviewed 15 October 2018 for a stay in October 2018

Stayed here for three nights. Its a lovely cottage in lovely quiet location with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.Kitchen has everything you would need to prepare a hot meal after a day out sightseeing.Local pub not far away but we never got the chance to try it.Living room a good size for a couple with log burning fire for romantic nights in.This leads onto the dinning room with further bed settee and dinning table in the bay window so you can enjoy the views while having your breakfast /lunch or dinner. Bedroom has two small steps leading into it so not good if you have mobility issues but not a problem for us.Large comfortable bed with door leading onto decking area which due to the rainfall we never got to use.As mentioned on previous posts the toilet/shower is compact but not a problem i just left the door open pulled the curtain over the front door and used the entrance lobby as an extension for getting dry. There is a table in the entrance which i used to put toiletries etc on.It is what it is and shouldn't spoil your experience. I would suggest getting rid of the decking and just putting a non slip mat on the tiled floor (this is only my personal opinion but feel it would improve the presentation).Anything you need Jenny is only a text away whether its logs for the fire. recommendations on local; places to visit or dine at. She always gives a prompt helpful reply or pops over to sort it out.All in all a nice relaxing break and escape to the sound of silence in a country setting.

Wow, thank you for your in depth review Ian. I know you loved the cottage and it was my pleasure to host you both. Yes, the wet room is small and has been well documented in people's reviews. The dimensions are given in the listing and there is a photograph, so cant be any more open about the size, so people should not be too surprised when they arrive. Over the 20 years as a holiday cottage, whilst being commented on, it has not proved to be a major problem, it has everything you need in there. I will consider your suggestion to remove the shower boards and will perhaps do market research with guests to find best preference. The two steps into the bedroom you mentioned are very shallow and wide and are described in my listing. Once again, they have never posed a problem to any guest. Thanks again Ian for you lovely positive review and look forward to seeing you next year.

“perfect location, perfect set up, cozy and comfortable”
Reviewed 18 September 2018 for a stay in September 2018

the views are stunning and this cottage is the perfect get-away. It was well equipped, warm, comfortable. The owner was very friendly and so helpful, and available readily if there were any issues. The only slight negatives are firstly the bathroom which is a small wet-room, but once you got used to that, in fact it was easy to navigate and the shower actually very good. Secondly the combination microwave-oven-grill, which makes cooking anything too extravagant rather difficult, but in our case we only stayed over a long weekend, and so worked around it.
The positives far outweighed the negatives however, with a comfortable bed, quiet location but at the same close to everything you need, a helpful friendly owner, who allowed us flexible check-in and check-out which really took away and stress, fluffy towels, clean and warm with fast heating heaters and a wood-burner, comfy sofas, good light, well equipped kitchen, and an overall very homely experience. I would strongly recommend this lovely cottage.

Thanks for taking the time to give such an in depth review and pleased you found a lot to like. As for the bathroom/wet room, the size should not be a surprise to anyone as I give accurate measurements of it in my description plus a very clear picture which shows it is a small space. The microwave, oven and grill all work independently as well as in a combination mode so, along with the hob, does give an adequate cooking/baking facility, albeit smaller than a conventional oven. Thanks for all the positives and the recommendation, perhaps next time I will be able to meet you.
