“Relaxing”

The atmosphere and food were both very good, with friendly staff and some interesting bits and pieces offered for sale in the shop area.

“Nice lemon drizzle cake”

Very friendly staff and reasonably priced sandwiches, snacks and cakes. God selections of drinks also. Right next to the souvenir shop.

“very good food but very poor ethos”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

I'm not a vegetarian but they do only vegetarian food and it is very good and has a distinctive and interesting style.

The staff are usually friendly but it depends who you get as they recruit 'volunteers' who have to commit to x amount of hours per week in order to live at the 'retreat' (not really a volunteering ethos). Well worth a visit if you like interesting and nutritious vegetarian food - they also do a meditation /dinner evening - ask for details.

“Average cafe”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013

Smoothies nice, more of an iced crush though. Sandwiches tasted quite dry, an addition of mayonnaise/butter or an alternative depending on your taste would have been nice along with a more ample serving of the pear in the pear and stilton and onion chutney to accompany the goats cheese would have improved things. Service slow. Relaxing atmosphere.

“ethical?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2013

Hi there
I ate at the world peace cafe again today despite a recent disappointing previous visit
We ordered"potato wedges and dips" the potato wedges arrived with two Heinz sachets of tomato ketchup and mayonnaise
I then asked for the dips but was told that was the sachets
I explained that dips were something that you could dip into and after some discussion we were given two small bowls of hummus and chilli which was nice
Where does the ethically sourced, vegetarian, organic concept embrace Heinz plastic sachets?. Not really trying on the environmentally responsible front
Such a lovely venue. What a shame
