“Lovely Place, Lovely staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2011

We normally stay at one of the Macdonald Hotels in the lakes; however this is a close second to any of them as the staff are so hospitable. They let us keep the room on free of charge for the day as my partner was competing in an event and I would have been on my own sitting in the hotel, but no just keep the room till whenever they said. My partner was up really early before breakfast time and they made him something substantial, and again this was no problem. Lovely views from the hotel, the pool was all our own and the roomvery pleasant and clean. Food in the restaurant was both reasonable (for the lakes) and was lovely. Good selection of dishes and some lovely Spanish wines to wash it all down with. A lovely place and not badly priced at all......................

Just returned from a long weekend at this hotel. We had Room 5 Grisedale which was roomy and well appointed with beautiful Lakeland views (if the weather had been better).
The food was superb and we were looked after by a friendly attentive staff. This is an excellent hotel and thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for quality food, in relaxing beautiful surroundings.

Had another weekend break here, mid December; not having been for a couple of years. From the warmth of the welcome to the final good-byes, Lyzzick remains a perfect place for a relaxing break. Good hearty breakfast, serious evening dinner and cosy rooms. On site pool makes for perfect evening relaxation or excercise. Close by are the fells and Keswick town centre with its shops and theatre. Probably easiest to have use of a car to maximise location.

Just spent three nights at Lyzzick Hall. If like us your ideal trip to the lake district is a day hill walking and looking around the walking gear shops followed by afternoon tea and a drink next to a roaring fire, follow this with a swim and a sauna/jaccuzi and a lovely evening meal then Lyzzick hall will be hard to beat.
Thanks to the staff who were exceptionaly friendly and efficient.
We had a great Christmas break. Recommended .

We stayed for two night in early October 2010 and came away feeling refreshed and happy. The hotel has wonderful facilities, including a pool, sauna, bar and an excellent restaurant. The staff are really helpful and friendly and make you feel welcome and appreciated.

Our room was a "standard" but we didn't want for anything. The bed was comfortable, the room was a reasonable size, the shower was ok, flat screen TV with standard channels is provided, and a good selection of hot drink options.

The pool was large enough to swim and was at a really nice temperature. A hot tub and sauna were also available.

The evening meal was a real treat and is a not to be missed event. The 5 courses, including coffee, could be selected from a good range of options. All were well presented and extremely tasty. I'm not sure that I could eat the full range over more than two days. It was very filling. A good selection of wines to accompany the food.

The location is fantastic if you want to walk the local peaks or travel to other parts of the lakes. The A66 and Kewick are only five minutes away.

The price was a little on the high side; we paid £83 per person per night, including breakfast and evening meal.

Drying facilities are available if you fall victim to the Lake District weather.
